My 2013 C-MAX Hybrid SEL (120K miles), sometimes slightly jerks forward during deceleration when lightly applying brakes between 30 to 10 mph. There are no check engine / warning lights coming on. Car has been great since I bought it new. All maintenance was done on time and no leaks. Brakes are good. Would appreciate your help with suggestions on what actions I should take to address issue. Thanks.

Hello everyone! I am considering purchasing a 2015 c-max hybrid. It has 130,224 miles on the odometer. It’s comfortable to drive and I’m really excited about it. But I am not familiar with Hybrid Batteries. What is the C-Max battery like? Is there much life left in a 9 year old battery? How much money would it take to repair one? Has anyone replaced these batteries and at what mileage did they fail? Thank you for reading this and I look forward to reading your advice

Hello - I have searched but must be using the wrong search string. I bought my 2013 c-max hybrid (not SEL or anything), it had just under 50,000 miles when I purchased in late 2017. About 3 weeks ago I drove to work and when I tried to use the key fob to lock the car, it made a terrible sound, all the lights flickered, and everything went dark. I got back in and inserted the key and there was nothing happening. Ford dealer came and got it and said the hybrid battery (the one in the back?) was dead. They replaced and reset the computer and all has been well. I am puzzled though about the numbers on the dashboard. The two years leading up to this event, the EV numbers on the dashboard never got higher than 38, and now they stay very constant around 118. I have no idea what those numbers mean, but I am wondering if the low numbers were a hint that the battery had been dying all this time (have had several issues with the check engine light). Mostly just seeking to understand what the numbers mean? I am always careful with my braking score so I get 100% (or very close) return most of the time. This is my first hybrid and I love my little-max.

I had a funny thing happen on my trip with the Hybrid Battery Gauge after I had twice stopped for gas and once stopping to stay over night in Motel. I had EVed prior to stopping so EV battery was low, but when I started the car, the gauge showed almost full. This also happened once or twice before trip to Arizona. The Gauge goes down fairly quickly so I guess the Battery is not full, but is a surprise to see it jump up like that. Anyone see this happen? Paul
