Just changed the oil on my son's 2016 C-max Energi. Uses it for commuting, drives 60 miles/day about 20 miles of it is electric. Used Mobile One synthetic 0W-20 extended miles. Oil says its guaranteed for 15000 miles. I assume that is for normal ICE vehicle. So how many miles could he go before changing oil again? Has anyone tested the Mobile One Oil in their car?

Oil change 11/16/2016, 13930 ICE miles and almost a year. Everything looks great! 142k Total Miles. -
Last night I got the Change Oil Soon display to come up on the left screen of the dash, now it is showing Oil Change Required. I'm trying to remember how long we are allowed to drive after these displays come up? I am thinking it's 500 miles, but don't want to be steered wrong. So far have driven about 204 miles after first displaying.

I got my oil changed at 1356 miles and got a sample. About 900 miles were on the gas engine according to the car computer. Copper and silicon were high, which is typical for break in. 87ppm vs 23ppm and 48 vs 21ppm average for all vehicles with 7200 mile interval. To me that proves that modern engines DO have a break in period, contrary to popular belief. In just 900 miles on the ICE, the oil accumulated several times the typical engine in 7k miles. It also shows that the filter doesn't capture every bit of metal. Fuel % is also 3% which they say gets better after break in. What surprised me though was the oil viscosity. The viscosity numbers are at the low end of what they should be for 0W-20 oil, and the flashpoint is 325F when it should be over 385F. It may not matter for these cars like it would for a turbo though.
