  1. Hi, I recently bought a 2013 C-max SEL and want to install LED bulbs for the low beams. I went with a kit that I have used before for our 2014 Chrysler T&C. When the lights are on in acc mode, they work fine. When you turn the car on, they are on for 1/2 a second, then they shut off. I believe this is due to the wattage / voltage being lower than expected for the LED bulbs versus regular incandescent bulbs. Does anyone know of an off the shelf bright LED kit that connects directly to the battery AND connects to the stock wiring going to each headlight so that the interior controls still work normally? Or is there some other workaround that someone knows of? I am in IT, but I do not know electrical work very much. I would not be comfortable with too much jury-rigging. Also, if anyone has put LED bulbs in for the fog lights, I would like to do those as well. Does anyone know if those suffer from the same issue as the low beam headlights? If you know of a kit that would work for this, I would love to know of it. Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone, I thought of installing a set of colored halos into headlights and fog lights. I want them to be pale red, not extremely bright. Right under the rear headlight edge I'm planning to do a line with tiny LEDs. Here is the pic where I tried to draw my project by myself: Arrows point the actual mods. And here is the pic of the color I want: Pic taken from this site - https://www.carid.com/gallery/ford/f-350/ and that's an F-350. So here are the questions that I wanted to ask you folks: 1. Which halo rings are better and will give that pale red glowing effect - LED or CCFL? 2. Do I need any sort of inverter or resistor? Or modern halos already come with everything needed wired in? 3. About those tiny bulbs (see the black arrow). I know that I will have to drill. What is the best way to insulate the LEDS to prevent plastic from melting? As I know LEDs reveal a lot of heat...
  3. Has anyone had any luck changing out the Low Beam OEM bulbs (H11) on a C-Max for LED Bulbs? I changed out the H1 High Beam bulbs with Hikari LED bulbs and they work great. However the low beam ones come on for 1 sec. and go out. Mechanic at Ford dealer said it is because of Body Control Module, I have tried 3 different resister harnesses with no success. I was told the High Beams (H1) don't go through the body control module that's why those work. My High beams are great, would like the same with my low beams.
  4. The High beams on my cMax are erratic. they will come on and off, mostly off. Dealer says there is a short in a control module and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole Headlight assembly ($416). This does not sound right. I look at the parts for the assembly and there is nothing listed as a control module only the bulbs and the housing.
