Has anyone else had this issue?
Bought a 2017 C-Max energi brand new. Had one issue with the high voltage wire failing in 2019 because it was not built correctly, namely not in the protective housing.
Warranty covered the repair. Last week, the "pull over safely" light went on, and the engine stopped.
Dealer charged me almost $1200 to take apart the covers for the battery (at $160/hour), and it ended up being "the affected wire had rubbed through under the car. Wire needs to be repaired and all ....reinstalled."
Apparently, the loom holding the wire was rubbed through where it bends upwards by the rear seat, causing moisture to get in, triggering the fail.
Called Ford Inc., and they so far refuse to pay, given that there is no recall and not under warranty anymore. Seems like either a design flaw and/or sloppy repair from two years ago? Thanks for your help!
