  1. I have a 2013 Hybrid SEL. Today I noticed that when I shut the engine down, the radio kept playing even when I opened the door. I tried a reset to factory settings--no luck. I called my dealer. They didn't know the cause. They did suggest that I pull the fuse (passenger side under glove box). I got out my manual and borrowed a pointed tip pliers from the coffee shop I was having breakfast at, pulled the appropriate fuse and the radio shut off. I went back into the restaurant and finished my breakfast. I then drove home and decided to put the fuse back just to see what would happen. Low and behold, the radio worked fine and shut off as usual. Of course, I had to pair my smart phone, but my radio stations remained intact. All data on the navigation system was lost (no big deal). I don't understand the issue, but the bottom line is that all is working correctly now. Has anyone else had this issue come up?
  2. Haven't had luck with any videos, forums, repair shops, etc. Decided to see if anyone here had a similar problem with a solution. Car: 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid May 2019: Started making popping sounds randomly through the speakers even when stereo was turned off. When stereo was turned on and the popping happened, the sound would immediately stop working. Display still worked, buttons still worked, just no sound. This was quickly fixed by turning off the car and turning it back on. December 2019: Popping sound got worse. It was like a constant stream of pops at this point. The radio pretty much never worked at this point. Display and buttons still worked. January 2020: Popping stopped completely, but now the display doesn't respond to the buttons. Time and date are still on, but the stereo screen doesn't appear when I push the button. When I push the button a second time, there's this little animation that the screen would normally show when the stereo was being turned off. The rear parking sensor alert sound has also stopped working. I'm curious if this is a speaker issue... I've taken apart the system but haven't seen anything unusual or out of place. All fuses are working properly, too. The dealer hasn't been much help, and a couple independent repairs shops have said the model is "too unique" to know for sure if they can fix it. ? Please let me know if anyone has any ideas!
  3. 2013 CMax Hybrid, 100k miles. 4th OEM battery installed at 97k, now failing. Radio/nav has failed several times in our 3 years of ownership, always resetting itself after pulling a fuse, or...after each battery disconnect/replacment (3 replacement batteries!!!!) Entire entertainment window is now black. Dealer just phoned, says it's the APIM module, $1k+ to replace, WITH NO WARRANTY after replacement. ??????? YES, he says, they fail all the time. YES, he says, Ford hasn't figured it out, and the entertainment module/software is sold to them, "by a vendor that visits" the dealership. He claims the vendor isn't even a Ford employee. ????
  4. Hello: I have a 2013 Ford C-Max. I was hit in the passenger side last summer (2017) and had to have my door was replaced. After that, my horn went out, so I took it back and they said they had to replace the entire steering column. Around the time that I got it back from the horn not working, we were coming home from a long trip, and my speakers popped and I had no sound. Radio buttons and screen were all good, but nothing was coming out of the speakers. We went to the gas station, turned off the car, went into the store, and came back out, started the car, and we had sound again. My speakers have been doing this periodically for months now, I have had it at the dealership 2 times, and they cannot figure out what is going on with it. This week, it has gotten worse, every time I get in the car, the radio comes on for about 3 seconds and then it's out. So if anyone has any certainty to what might be causing this. Please let me know. Thank you!
  5. I used to have my iPhone 6s connected to my radio through Bluetooth. For some reason or another, it disconnected and wouldn't connect again. I was told to forget the device and add it again. This worked. Now, it has disconnected again and no matter what I try, it won't connect again. I also have trouble when I have it connected with the cord, I often have to unlug it and plug it in several times before it works. Is this just because of the Mircosoft/Apple thing? Is there anything I can do to get back on Bluetooth? Anyone else have issues?
  6. This from OASIS recently: May 29 2014 4984 -2013-2014 C-MAX - Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display Some 2013-2014 C-MAX vehicles may exhibit an intermittent concern while changing radio stations. The station changes but the screen display does not reflect the station change. The screen may eventually display the correct frequency or channel after a few minute delay. This may occur on FM, AM bands and/or Sirius channels. To correct the condition reprogram the Audio Control Module (ACM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 90.04 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. For warranty claiming use causal part 19C107, and use the applicable 12651D labor operations in Section 10 of the SLTS Manual for the vehicle.
  7. SSM 44606 - 2013-2014 C-MAX, Focus and 2014 Fiesta, Transit Connect - Several Radio IssuesSome 2013-2014 C-MAX, Focus and 2014 Fiesta, Transit Connect vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following concerns: AM/FM/Sirius radio display does not update when changing stations using presets or frequency selector, during CD operation the track info is blank and no information available, FM mode Autostore does not store stations in numerical order, and/or following a vehicle start-up the radio cannot be heard until the radio on/off is cycled, volume level is adjusted or the radio station is changed. To correct these conditions reprogram the Audio Control Module (ACM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 90.04 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. 8. The stock stereo is okay in the SE -- JUST okay -- but I've been dancing around an upgrade for some time. Last night I ordered an Alpine KTP-445U amplifier and JL Audio C3 convertible component speakers. Frankly I'm nervous whether the amp will screw anything up: Has anybody found a wiring harness by Metra, etc. that plugs into our existing harness so we don't have to cut a bunch of wires? The C-max does not exist in any installer database I could find. Does our radio circuit have at least a 15 amp fuse? (I think 20 is typical for Ford but not certain in our case.) The KTP-445U is a super-efficient digital amp that can share the radio's power wire rather than requiring an amp kit, as long as this is the case. Will the car's active noise cancellation still work, or will the amp mean the out-of-phase sound is too loud and thus increases road noise instead of canceling it? Will the lady that lives in my dashboard retain a normal speaking voice, or will she shout at me? Will my car's blessed exemption from the 12volt battery problems continue, or will adding draw to the system strain it to where it malfunctions? Will cutting wires in the wiring harness to install the amp, threaten my warranty? The cost of the equipment...and installation, in the extremely likely event I leave it to a professional...is daunting enough even before all that...
  9. Monday 11/3/2014. Weather temp 43F. Time around 6:40am. Driving on highway. Radio has been on since the car started 30mins ago. Around 6:40am, there as some kind of static or sound like from firework sparking stick that was coming from the speakers for serveral minutes. I thought may be the radio channel need to change. But before I changed it, the radio screen was turned off and blank, and the radio channel still was playing. And then the radio screen was back to normal being on again, the radio channel was still playing, but the sparking noises from the speakers were gone. This has happened one time. Bizzare? And yes yes, I only have the basic model with radio equipment only. :)

  11. I have the non-touchscreen stereo. I use it in USB mode with my iPhone, and I use the iPhone for everything: music, navigation, etc. So it is infuriating how frequently the stereo just flat-out fails to work in USB mode. Sometimes it can't finish indexing the songs, other times that's no problem. But often it simply won't play any sound at all while in USB mode: no music, no apps, nothing from the phone at all. Sometimes it starts working after a minute; usually it doesn't. I tell it "Play" and it tells me that command is not available. I try various combinations of cycling the source, power cycling the car/phone/stereo, cycling the iphone from Sync to Dock Connector mode etc., and eventually it works -- but i have no idea why. Good thing I'm not trying to impress anyone by showing off the infotainment system. Any idea why this happens? What can I do? Maybe the system hangs due to too many songs or contacts or something?
  12. This from OASIS today: Some 2013 C-Max and F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch may exhibit a concern where the radio will not turn on, message saying SIRUS Update stuck at 0% status, CD will not eject with message saying - No Disk. To temporarily correct this condition, remove fuse 29 from the Body Control Module (BCM) on F-Super Duty and both fuse 67 and 79 on the C-Max for a minimum of 30 seconds to reset the Audio Control Module (ACM). A permanent software fix is being developed, continue to monitor oasis for updates.
  13. This today from OASIS: Apr 01 2014 4779 -2013-2014 Focus, Focus Electric, CMAX, CMAX Energi, Superduty, Fiesta - My Ford Touch - Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display Some customers with 2013-2014 Focus, Focus Electric, CMAX, CMAX Energi, F-Super Duty, and Fiesta vehicles equipped with My Ford Touch may exhibit an intermittent concern while changing radio stations where the screen display appears to freeze and does not display the updated frequency or channel, but the audio output does change. The screen may display the correct frequency or channel after a few minute delay. This may occur on FM, AM bands and/or Sirius channels. Do not attempt to resolve this condition. Engineering is working on a resolution which should be available 2nd Quarter 2014. Monitor OASIS for updates and continue to submit Global Concern Reports.
  14. Greetings! I just took possession of a 2013 C-MAX SEL two weeks ago and I love everything about it - except for a bit of bait-and-switch that Ford seems to be engaging in. Has anyone had this problem: In the 2013 C-MAX catalog, the promised technology is a SiriusXM radio, with a free six-month subscription. In the dealer's SourceBook (shown to me by the dealer), the promised technology is a SiriusXM radio, with a free subscription. On the Ford website, the promised technology is a SiriusXM radio, with a free six-month subscription. The radio I received is only a Sirius radio. No XM. Which means that three of my family's favorite stations (KISS LA, ZOO NY and LITE NY) are not available. At all. No matter which package we have. Does it not seem like bait-and-switch when Ford advertises SiriusXM and gives you Sirius? The two are separate, distinct products. With specific capabilities. I want my SiriusXM radio. Any thoughts or suggestions? RickW
