Electric Range

Hi,

Just got my Energi Sunday night (today is Wed) and I'm a bit disappointed in my electric-only range :-(  I paid the extra $5000(!) for the Energi over the Hybrid version *specifically* for the 21 mile advertised range.  I calculated that would be perfect for my daily drive.

But, and I'm driving *very* conservatively, braking well, using ECO mode when I can, and I'm only getting around 14 miles, on mostly flat surfaces, in sunny S. CA, w/temp around 70 degrees.W

What's up with that?

Anyone?

Thanks.

RJ :)

Give it time and get used to the car. Nothing encourages thrifty driving like trying to reach your destination before the battery runs out, but the car is still new and you are still learning it. I found that a change in route greatly increased my electric range and I could easily get 20 or 21 miles (but that was before the colder weather and now I just make 18on a cold day).

This is why they call it an estimate.

YRMV

Everything can impact performance.

My range has swung from 12 on the low end to 23 on the high end.

What speed were those miles driven? Did you have any climate controls on? We're the lights on?

Check your tire pressure.

Also, the car is not broken in yet.
