Bobby
Am having a problem with my 2013 Energi. That I can only describe as it's turning radius. Hopefully it's a quick fix. It usually happens in a U-turn. But, last Thursday; I hit a curb,AGAIN. And the impact literally, cut the tire. Making it un-usable. Had to replace it. Any suggestions? That I can take with me. To a Front-end specialist.
jzchen
The suspension is pretty tough I would guess it only needs an alignment. If the alignment won't go back to within tolerance/specs then I hope the alignment shop can help replace whatever may be bent. C-MaxA2
When I first bought my C-Max I read some reviews on-line and one of them described the turning radius of the C-Max as: 'having the turning radius of a small moving van'. Accurate. I know it's that way and now I just drive accordingly and expect lots of 3 point turns, turning into 6 points...
takingittothemax
Yeah, the turning circle's pretty big. I don't remember any other Focus-based models being quite this way. And I don't recall reading about Euro C-Maxes having this issue, I think it's a specific setup for the NA C-Max Hybrid/Energi.
Bobby
Thanks for the replies. Helps ease the anxiety. Was thinking it might be a function. Of the hybrid set-up. One other thing, maybe related. Lots of times when turning the wheel. I can feel the steering linkage bumping against the floorboard. Not seriously, but definitely noticeable. Took it to the dealer. They just shrugged it off. Any thoughts?
jzchen
FWD cars tend to have wide turning radii, at least seems that way....
Noah Harbinger
Yeah, I was pretty surprised by the turning radius, and had a few rear-wheel curb strikes when I first got it.
