13C-Max Posted July 27, 2022 Report Share Posted July 27, 2022 Hello, I have a 2013 C-Max Hybrid SEL. There is a noxious, super-glue-like smell inside the car. The smell is worse if it is hot outside. I have pinpointed the smell, and it is coming from the weatherstripping around the doors. The smell is worse if it is hot outside. David McC Posted July 28, 2022 Report Share Posted July 28, 2022 I have the same problem with my 2015. I washed the strip with a strong Dawn detergent and water solution which has helped a bit. My guess is that it's a reaction from the rubber to a cleaning or rubber protection product. I bought my car from Carvana and I figured they used a rubber cleaner on the gaskets. They do come off easily, so if I really can't stand the odor I will probably replace them eventually.
