When the librarian stopped by and asked if I owned a hatchback and my heart sunk. :cry: No damage. I have to move where I put my key fob as my hatch had remotely opened and had remained open for quite some time. And I'm in the South were... I suppose where the Broken Window Theory isn't quite acted upon. But I have a question, I thought the hatch would remotely close if open for an extended period of time -- Am I mistaken? wab Posted April 8, 2013 Report Share Posted April 8, 2013 (edited) I left ours open at least a couple of hours, didn't close.But I was working on the tail lights so maybe it knew I was there??? I was working on the front and must have pushed the button X2 in my pocket OUCH the garage door was closed. One of my neighbors sets his alarm off ALL THE TIME. Sort of like I'm always doing with my phone dialing the last person I talked with. Or random dial from my contacts list. A pain for sure. This happened to my yesterday. I was in the kitchen (next to the driveway) and I could see the top of the lift gate up in the air! Weird. Must have 'pocket dialed' it open. I believe for the power liftgate foot functionality the key needs to be within a couple feet of the hatch. So inside wouldn't be a problem that way. However, if you got the button pressed in your pocket, then inside the house seems like fair game. I've not yet come out to an open hatch but I have come out to find all my windows down at least once so far.
