grggwlkr
You know how when you are in EV mode you see the blue plus sign next to the 60 on the instant MPG gauge. Well today I was experimenting with the high mpg ICE instead of the usual P&G on the way to work. I had about a 3 mile stretch where the battery was supercharged up, going 55-56 mph, and any less pressure on the accelerator and I would have dropped into EV mode. The instant MPG gauge was up to the 60 mpg mark and the little plus sign was flickering on and off but it was white instead of blue. 60+ MPG using the ICE and not going down hill....Cool!!! hybridbear, kyledamron1 and JAZ
C-MAXER
I have a section on my daily commute where I think I might be able to replicate this. I'll try and give it a shot.
grggwlkr
I got the white plus sign to to flash in 2 different sections of the drive to work today. I will admit that it takes a great deal of concentration. Not recommended if much traffic. Yesterday's trip mileage was 50.9 for 47 mile trip and today 50.7. It would have been better today but I kept dropping into EV mode, darn rough roads.

I posted a thread on this months ago, and yes its dangerous - but it is useful, if you are able to feather the pedal and do it by feel, while keeping your eyes on the road. It's like drumming, it takes a while to get the co-ordination. Now, doing the ICE MPG at or around 60mph is more difficult as the CMax wants to go to EV...trickier than the higher speed ICE High MPG aka > 65mph. Good stuff for trying and posting your results...keep it up  hybridbear
