  1. It works great when traveling. I've discovered some great mom and pop type eateries this way. Otherwise I find the nav system to be frustrating. Also it does not work with "I'm horny".
  2. Yep. Did everything you mentioned with no improvement. May now actually be worse. My wive, who does not acknowledge any auto related noises, commented on the creaking last week. If you discover something that helps, please post.
  3. I ran a vehicle health report and the recall/TSA showed up in the report.
  4. hybridbear I read the tread on the FFH site.. Good stuff. My question is, do you need to shift from D to L to D to "trick" the computer, or could you just start off in L? The reason I am asking is I am not proficient at differentiating engine sounds.
  5. I have NEVER filled with equal or less gas than was reported used by the trip 1 display. I always stop filling at the first automatic cut off. I reset my lifetime when I started using Fuelly. The AVG MPG displayed is inaccurate. My lifetime is 47.8 mpg. Look below for Fuelly lifetime. The only time this is really annoying is when you think you have broken 50 mpg for a tank to find out at the pump, NOT!
  6. Gultim- do you keep the hill assist engaged all the time? The yellow icon just under the instant MPG gauge in your posted pics is lit and you are traveling 60mph, or are you going downhill. I thought hill assist increased ICE rpm to act as a brake.
  7. mtb I get what you are saying in your last post. I really hope you make it. I don't know of anyone on this forum who has put in the effort and mods as you and still not made the 600 mark. I am rather offended by the attack that JUS just launched. In my opinion he just earned the "dick" of the day award. Way to go MODERATOR!
  8. COLD is the ultimate DESTROYER of mileage. You guys that purchased in the Spring and Summer are in for a very rude awakening, unless there is magic in the update.
  9. A 35 to 40 mph head wind will DESTROY!! your mileage, especially at interstate speeds. It's right up there with wet roads.
  10. In Kentucky, you pump your own. I try to be consistent, first click on the nozzle and stop when it clicks off. No top offs. Anyway, my previous fill up filled me with joy as I looked at Fuelly and saw 49.9mpg for the fill. Now to yesterday's fill up. The trip 1 was showing 11 gallons used but my low fuel warning had come on. I had 530 miles on the tank and avg MPG of 51.1. Something is not adding up. Roughly 50 mile drive home from work and the warning turns red and miles to empty read 30. What the hell, I should have nearly 2 more gallons in the tank. I I get to the gas station and fill up and put 13 gallons in using the same method as always. Trip 1 said I had used 11.48 and I put in 13.04. Fuelly says 45.3mpg when trip 1 says 51.1. All I can figure is my last fill must have clicked off 1.5 to 2 gallons too soon. Moral of the story is when to red low fuel indicator comes on, TRUST IT!
  11. Sorry, i had't finished my first cup of coffee yet. reread the OP and noted the past-tense verbs. So which choice did you make?
  12. I have iphone 4. With incoming calls the phone rings(appropriate ring tone for caller) and a screen comes up on MFT display asking me if i want to accept the call. If the audio is on, it is muted. If the USB is in use, the device is paused. There is also an option to not be disturbed, and well....., you won't be disturbed.
  13. This posted at 8:09 PM, but you said your clock read 7:40 AM. I think you need to choose option (D)=get a new clock.
  14. First off, I know nothing about cars. After the update, mine ran "differently" for close to a tank. Like it couldn't find the groove. After reading some of the regular vs. premium threds, it looks like some part or chip controls timing or advancement or something. I wonder if this information gets erased in the update and has to be re-learned. I had a similar lose of "groove" when I switched from E-0 this spring to E=10?.
  15. This is my best ever home to work trip. Little to no wind, ambient temps 70 to 73 with no AC on, 80% of drive 50 to 60 mph. The mileage update was about 600 miles ago. It seems like it took nearly a tank of gas for Climax to get into the groove though.
  16. I called my dealer today, he told me that the parts for the headliner will not be available until September. They can do the PCM update starting next Monday. They are only scheduling the update to be done on Mondays and Tuesdays. Maybe they share a tech guy between dealerships?
  17. For discussions sake. What if this August update is a diversion for those in litigation over the mileage issue. Ford offers a solution that litigates will be compelled to have installed. The law suites then get pushed down the road until the update is shown to be successful or not. Ford then has some justification to dismiss some of the claims on technical grounds if the owner does not have the update installed. I'm not a lawyer and do not know the terminology. I have watched some Matlock in the past though.
  18. A 1966 candle wax yellow buick LaSabre. A real land yacht. Back seat the size of a twin bed. Great for high school back seat panty scratchin. Those were the days!
  19. Regarding High ICE mode: My speed is 55 to 57 mph driving to and from work, approx 47 miles. I typically enter High ICE 3 to 4 times each way. All you need is a relatively flat section of road and a kilowatt demand slightly higher than EV threshold. The only difference after the update is you be able to achieve it at 65 to 67 or possibly 75 to 77. I'm no hypermiler, my lifetime is 46.6, but of my near 10,000 miles only about 3400 are EV miles. I have gotten, though briefly, as high as 60+ mpg in High ICE at 55 mph. I know it was 60+ because the little "+" sign next to the 60 turned white.
  20. What I have observed. On my way to work, there is a section where i am going from 55mph to either a stop at a light or turning right that requires a near stop to make. There is a gradual down slope to the light of roughly a 10th of a mile. If traffic allows, I can tap off the cruise at the top of the slope and coast nearly to a stop by the time i reach to light with no significant increase in battery charge level. Or I continue in cruise to about the half-way point and aggressively brake and nearly fully charge the battery. The choice between to two is always dictated by traffic. If I have the choice, I will aggressively brake even if I take a slight hit on braking score because of the recharge bonus. This is primarily why I would like an indicator the shows when friction brakes start to be applied. Yes, I know where you stand on this issue Plus 3 Golfer.
  21. Yep. I posted on another thread that I was afraid something was going to explode. I will confirm the vibration and the sound. I was not able to stand to wait for it to ramp down, I just turned it off. When I turn it back on it behaved "normally".
