Today I am so proud of our Canadian astronaut Commander Chris Hadfield who has returned safely from six months in space.  Crank up your volume and listen to him sing Space Oddity from the space capsule.  It brought tears of pride to me.

It made me tear up and gave me chills too.  He is something else!  What a great voice and so many wonderful accomplishments.  I'm passing it on to my friend who was born in Canada.

Or BOMBING straight down a chute on your Board or Ski.

Gets the blood pumping....I'm out of control.....

My typical Sirius-surfing travels through the following channels:

Hair Nation

Boneyard

1st Wave

Lithium

Classic Rewind

Classic Vinyl

60's on 6

70's on 7

80's on 8

90's on 9

and Hits1 when there are youngsters in the car.

Also, my iPod is plugged into one of the USB ports for additional music when the above are not playing anything worth listening to.

We caught a concert by Keola Beamer in Phoenix (of all places) last spring. Great slack key playing and singing. The venue, the Musical Instrument Museum, is a must-see for anybody who digs music--especially ethnic stuff.

My favorite musical voyage is to plug in my 8gb thumb drive, which packs everything from Bill Monroe to Dub Syndicate to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (thanks to my music-mad former college roommate), set it on random and let it rip.

My own playing focuses on the old time country and folk stuff I learned in the 1960s.
