Shiatt
I'm posting for my sister, who has a 2017 C-Max Hybrid Titanium (I have a 2015...). She's begun having trouble turning the car off. The EV stays on when she tries to do so, and a warning message appears. She has to go through a drill of turning on, then turning off the car, sometimes for a number of attempts, before it finally will turn off. Has anyone run across this problem? cr08
Dumb question: But is it push button start (guessing yes being a Titanium trim)? Make sure they are not using the brake pedal while trying to turn it off. My brother has the same issue with my 2013 as he tries to shut it off with his foot on the brake pedal. Just a wild guess though. I have yet to see anyone have issues in this area and the ignition system isn't terribly complicated.
David McC
Don't press the pedal, just the button.
Shiatt
I'll check with her on her shutdown drill--it's a push button start. But she's had it for three years, so not clear why she'd have trouble now. I'll post results just to clarify the problem .... Thanks!
