homestead
Look for an experienced mechanic that will troubleshoot the problem rather than just swap components to see if that will fix the problem. What codes showed up from the check engine light?
C-MaxA2
I would buy and throw some 'Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant'. I've used it in my Fords (from the Focus ZTW to my Ford C-Maxs) to avoid check engine codes. Cheap and doesn't hurt anything so why not try? nogoodbum
Hello, welcome to the forum. After reading your post, i assume that your have read the codes & they are misfire related. You appear to have attacked the problem on the ignition & air as the source of the codes. [I am unsure what you call the engine igniters]. You may need to look at the fuel-related part of the equation. The C-Max seems to throw codes more quickly than most other cars I have owned, [may be my mis-info, no verified stats]. You may help the problem by using a good fuel injector cleaner for a couple of tanks of gas & on a recurring basis if this helps. Thanks for the read. db22
My 2015 C-Max Energi engine warning light is on most of the time. The car runs well most of the time, the only problem being a weird ICE miss/stutter/shut down at highway speed when the cruise control is on. If I pull over, shut the vehicle down, wait 30 seconds and then restart, the problem is gone. Sometimes all I need to do is turn off the cruise control and move the accelerator up and down a few times to speed up/slow down the vehicle. Also, the brake warning light and "ding" come on for no apparent reason, usually when the car has been sitting out in the sun and is hot, most often when the ICE starts immediately upon pressing the "start" button. The brakes operate normally, and the regenerative braking system seems to be functioning as it should.
