  1. For me it would't be worth it even if you doubled the range to 20 miles. I would get an escape PHEV (39mile range) or an EV if you don't take frequent long trips. I did buy a Mach-E standard range EV last year after I sold my c-max.
  2. It's normal for there to be more noise when the engine turns on vs running on the battery only. You can post a recording here of the noise if you think it's a problem.
  3. 8 miles seems a little low for 34k miles on the car. Maybe there is a problem with the battery pack. I would get it diagnosed before getting it replaced. Or just drive it as is, a new battery would not add a lot of value.
  4. May be able to charge overnight at motel otherwise no worries.
  5. Sounds about normal. My son has a 2016 c-max Energi with about 75k miles and he said he gets about 10 miles on the battery. Car should still get about 40mpg on long trips if you don't drive too fast. Will do better in the warmer weather. Winter is hard on hybrid & EV's.
  6. Wouldn't think so unless lack of coolant killed the inverter and it shorted out the main battery. Is the inverter still functional?
  7. Welcome, the forum is back alive!
  8. You can I believe reset the Lifetime numbers. I think I did that when I first got my 2013 Hybrid.
  9. Only issues I could come up with is your mpg's will go down some if you stick with the winter tires and wear out sooner. I found Costco has the best price when I replaced the oem Michelin's.
  10. Look for an experienced mechanic that will troubleshoot the problem rather than just swap components to see if that will fix the problem. What codes showed up from the check engine light?
  11. Is it one door or all doors. My driver door was having problems unlocking and I found a TSB to remove door handle and spray sealant on the inside of the door handle. Evidently water was getting in there and causing the problem. Doing that helped. My car was stored outside.
  12. I just recalled this recall... Description of Recall: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
  13. Before changing the sensors I would take an old toothbrush and clean them. I've heard they can get crud in the circular cracks that can cause them to be set off.
  14. Thanks! Just sold our C-Max to our daughter. Her 2010 Prius just bit the dust, blown head gasket. It had 150k miles on it when it died.
  15. Too bad that would have been a cheap easy fix. Yeah it could be a connector on the back of instrument panel not fully connected or something worse but you would have to take apart the dash to find it.
  16. Yeah I got last week. Less than a 100 miles on it so far. We like it a lot. Very smooth & quiet and fast if you need it. Next year tesla superchargers should open up for fords. A few are already in place now. When you sign in at supercharger it automatically leaves a CSS charge adapter on the end of the tesla charger. They need to lengthen the charge cords as Fords have the port on the front of the vehicle.
  17. Was looking for new vehicle for last couple years. Saw 2022 Escape PHEV with 13k miles on it and did a test drive, everything was fine except it was very noisy. Noisier than my C-max hybrid. It may have had the ANC (active noise control) problem where it feeds back noise in the cabin. So since we don't go on many long trips anymore we pulled the trigger on a new Mustang Mach-E which we really like. They are heavily discounting them now and I was able to get one for about the same price as Escape PHEV and then with tax credit and 0% financing it came out much cheaper to get the Mach-E. So will be selling our C-max SEL with 70k on it and will probably hang around the forum since my son has a 2016 C-max Energi.
  18. Sounds like the power or ground is disconnected. For power check fuses for blown fuse. There is one fuse panel under the glove box. Another under the hood and another in the cargo area. I would try checking F69 (instrument cluster) in the fuse panel under the glove box. Look at this page for help in locating the correct fuse. Good luck
  19. Moerdogg Is it possible to just move your wire harness and lights from the damaged hatch to the 2013 hatch? Or were the lights damaged in the crash?
  20. Glad to hear yours is still running. My 2013 has about 70k and is still good. Ours is 80% city & 20% county driving. Always wondered what the failure is.
  21. Service Tire Mobility kit notification popped up again today. Last time was 5 years ago. Checked online the canister is $52.18 DJC posted this link of entire kit for $65. Someone commented that it works on Ford C-max. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJ2TBL2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  22. Best case EV only 19-20 miles, with 100k miles something less than that. My son has 2016 energi c-max with 72000 miles , he can go about 16 miles on ev only. YMMV
  23. You can do a test drive when it is fully charged and see how far you can drive on battery only.
