mtb9153
I have something which has happened several times now. I push the start button in the morning and immediately the ICE kicks in and my battery level is at or near the bottom. I know full well I didn't leave the car tuned on because I remember seeing the screen say thanks for driving a hybrid. Really weird. Almost like some sort of power drain is happening. PWBarrett
Hmm. I wonder if it uses the hybrid battery and the DC-DC converter to charge the 12V battery while it is sleeping.Previously I had heard that relays disconnect the HV battery when the car is off, but maybe that's not the case (or no longer the case with the newer 12V battery charging firmware). Bob999
I had the battery charging firmware update and did not notice any difference in the behavior before/after the update--the state of charge of the HV battery upon start continues to be what it was at shut down. In my case where there is a steep climb from the point where EV+ activates and the garage the EV+ mode will use nearly all the charge in the HV battery . As a result the ICE engine will operate the next time I drive the car unless I am very careful.
