extra plug-in batteries and portable solar array

I have a Ford C-Max Engeri and most of my driving is commuting and I’m not using the truck area.  It would be nice if there was a way to add extra batteries in the truck area to extend my commute and then on the occasions when I would need the truck area I could remove the extra batteries on those occasions.

The other option that I wonder about is if it would be possible / feasible to get a solar array panel that would fit in the truck of the c-max that could charge the car while I’m at work.

Congrats on a buy a C-Max. This is mostly a non Energi forum.

Will there is a will there is way... Adding extra batteries would be very cost prohibited. We lithium batteries which means any modifications need to be done by a certified company. I needed to by a new lithium battery for my test equipment, cost $800. Batteries Plus couldn't do anything because it is lithium.

A solar array to recharge from my limited knowledge would need to be very large and very expensive also.

In the end, it would be cheaper to plug in and buy gas when needed. The pay back would most likely never be seen on those investments.
