Fuelly hurting C-max hybrid's Reputation

The Grand C-Max is a larger, 7-passenger vehicle. There is a separate listing for the Grand C-Max in Fuelly. This one is in the wrong place. The other one is a diesel, which is sold in Europe. Using the Engine Type filter to show only Hybrid L4 "should" weed out all of the other types of C-Maxes.

These two C-maxes are hurting the Ford C-max hybrid's bottom line MPG. I really wish Fuelly would fix this.

Is this the same Seth7721 aka Super Sipper on fuelly.com who did 724 miles according to fuelly.com?

Dude - if you are, we need to add you to the 600+ CMax club... ;)

Got photo?

Yes, I did do the 724 miles in one tank. How do I join the 600+ mileage club?

Its automatic when you post here...and you got 20 posts already. Now, you got a pic of this breaking record so we can post this up as proof to the others? Otherwise I'll need to make a note of it as fuelly only. Plus we  :wub2: gawking at these high miles

That would make you the 5th in the 700 drinks bar. 600 gets you in the door  ;) Mind you since we're all a friendly club, anyone can sit with anyone if this was a physical club...plus then I can enjoy the drinks that Riddley was suppose to buy for everyone...ha...thought we had forgotten, didn't he  ;)

No worries, then I'll fill in what I can. Take a look at Post #1 of that thread, we track a lot of info for our members.

Welcome to the club and next time, lets take a pic so I can fill it in as I am sure you'll hit this mark and more again

I usually refill on Saturday. I will take a picture then. I expect to hit between 710 and 730.

Awesome, nice to see another CMax hypermiler here with frbill, orphoto, Matt and I.

If you feel inclined, perhaps you won't mind dropping some driving tips in a thread here. We still have many members here striving to break the 600 so I like to get the high milers here to help out. Matt has done one and so have I - and let me point out the Matt is also doing some aero mods as well and the 1st to break the 650 & 700 barriers.

Just to help the other drivers achieve...

I just saw you post - yeah, I am from Los Angeles (San Fernando area and the temps here are constant like you but no humidity). Matt is Illinois and right now hes in a good climate but it does get cold there. It makes sense a Florida driver will get this as well - and great news to have the whole country covered west coast to east coast. Yes  :happy feet:

Florida 97 degree weather is a great help in getting those 700+ mile tank.

Where in Florida are you, and what kind of driving are you doing?  I'm in Orlando and drive mostly on the highway.  I'd be happy to hit the 500 mile club.

i ran the data on Wed to calculate some numbers but note you should ALL be using the the filtered search on Fuelly for not only the 2013 model year but to filter only the "hybrid" ones (using the pulldown) , so you know you have valid data and not bogus data that does not apply.many folks have no clue when reporting their data.

on Wed there was only 152 vehicles in this filter of hybrid cars and not the 220 shown in your screenshot.

in  my filtered data the ones called "Grand CMax" and "Charlie Max" were not included. They   are part of the 2013 model year sample but not part of the smaller hybrid only sample. don't forget they are still selling them overseas so...

I'd rather use 150 valid data points than 200+ suspect data points.

as long as fuelly data is self reported wee will continue to have these issues but make sure you are looking at the correct data first.

Agreed on the need to "drill down" on the fuelly website to get rid of some of the chaff but there are still "issues".  I went through the 100's under the 2013 CMax with "hybrids L4" designation looking for averages around 30mpg and lower.  The majority of these were winter tanks and then the drivers quit entering data so their better summer tanks will never contribute to the national average.  Folks like these:

Oh well.......
