Hollywoodtx
I can not say how angry I am..We got the recall and brought it in at the same time had them look at svl other issues. Well nothing but GPS update has been done and they said still waiting on latch (1 week now) We are the only C-max in the shop since last Monday but yet they dont have enough recall latches to go around!I have to drive this small little oh did i say small fiesta while I wait. Because the darn thing unlatched while driving the car can not go to his transmission guy to test the halted back up or the on sometimes and off air cond. problem. Here it is the 4th is almost here and I know things just about shutdown so what I have to wait another week...Sorry but so frustrated! Hubby is about to take the other set of keys and throw them at the dealer and give him what for. He has been upset since our cross country trip to Ma. and had to bring it in then also lift gate problem/gps that had us in lakes. We also noticed that the more mileage we put on it the less we would get on mi/gal he said it is like driving a temperamental toddler. Sorry just had to vent. Laurel
You were so spittin' mad that I couldn't totally figure out what all your issues are? You something about "halted back up" and air conditioning problems. Not sure what the "halted back up" is. I thought the recall on the hatch was just software and not an actually replacement of the latch. I haven't had it done yet, but maybe someone else knows if it is a latch or just software? Sorry that you are having troubles!
Noah Harbinger
You're right to be mad but I'm not sure how much the dealer is to blame. There's been tons of people with problems, especially those who bought it when it first came out. For a few years it seemed like Ford'd licked the new-car-problems, but the last couple years with all these cars on European platforms they've been just dropping the ball. (I've heard people in very different fields say Europeans value features over dependability, and Americans the reverse). I am glad mine is OK but I think it's just inexcusable that so many have had problems. The only latch recall I've heard of was on the child safety locks disengaging for maybe a couple thousand C-Maxs. Are you talking about a Hatch Latch? Seems like you could at least tie it closed until they can get the parts to fix it. I'd hate to be without my car for long, even if I were having problems. When my car was in the shop (there was some paint damage I didn't notice until the final walkaround that they fixed for free - made me nervous but they did a damn fine job fixing it) they tried to stick me in a Chevy Sonic at the dealer-affiliated Enterprise - you think the Fiesta is small! There's no way I could fit in that. I expressed consternation, and they said it wouldn't be much more for a larger car - for $2/day, I ended up in a Chevy Equinox, which was plenty roomy. I'm not particularly happy at paying for the upgrade but it was little enough that it was worth doing. So all that's just to say, if they can't give you your car back until they get the part, well, maybe they can give you a bigger car. If they value your business, anyway. Hollywoodtx
So sorry to confuse you guys...We had the lift gate software fixed while we were in MA. Then when I get home it would not close and always showed lift gate ajar. With a good push it would sometimes engadge but last week svl times while driving ( i drive all highway) it unlatched and showed lift gate ajar. so I stop pull over and fix it ..off I go again this time pop goes the hatch again but it opens with enough space for something to fall out. That is what the problem was. I have been told today that the latch is now on backorder and went thru some redesign and my service person hopes to get us in that 1st group of 220 (YAH RIGHT) As for the air..it tends to blow warm sometimes no matter what I have it at but since they could not replacate it it is a non problem in thier eyes. The back up is the same complant svl of us had whne putting it in reverse it feels like the emergency brake is on them afer giving it gas it seems to catch and send the car back (god help me if I give it to much gas) I am just so upset. I love my Maxi Rose but the problems are getting more and more. My cars b-date is 9/11/12 what is that 6 mo. onto the 1st production???? Thanks for the support guys!!!! Laurel
Thanks for clarifying the issues. I am really sorry for all the troubles you are having. Very discouraging and time consuming too. You have every right to be really upset. We are behind you 100%, and we will bombard your dealership with supportive emails if required <g>. Joking, but happy to do that if it would help. So upsetting. It now looks as if Maxi rose may never come home if the husband has his way..she falls under the texas lemon-aid law (hubby went looking) and from the sounds of it he would like to hand the keys right over. Just want all to be better and driving my maxi again.
METROMAN
Sorry for your problems. Seems I need to get ours to the dealer too as the ac is acting weird. Sounds like yours. Cold then hot, even tho its not set on auto. Bottom guage by shifter says ac is running while the big screen says its not. Go figure. Seems as if the two screens aren't talking to each other. Anybody else seen this?
salsaguy
if your car was born/made in Sept 2012 then it was one of the very first cars off of the brand new production line with new workers, not 6 months after, as you stated in your message. all brand new 1st gen cars or any built product has issues/bugs so thats why they warn you not to buy a first gen car. if you do the lemon law trade get a new one made after April 2013 so you know the bugs are out and updates all applied to the car. Hollywoodtx
forgot to add here ia the outcome that I posted in the Lounge They are willing to extend a hand...just the mention of the law sent them into over drive. So BIG Big discount on current loan and a buy back aggrement should we choose to go that way before she turns 3 if we are willing to purchase another c-max. I would say it is a win!!! Maxi Rose (or mom) is now the new pain in fords ars! She has gone to a pvt service department (will only be sent there) and somehow has come back in one day. Not everthing is compleatly fixed but all safety issues have been addressed. Calk one up for the consumer this time! salsaguy
Katharine Susman
This is a really interesting post ...I have a ford cmax also built sept 2012..ford has given me a code of P0A2F diagnostic code.. After we paid $562 for a ford dealer repair to replace the automatic transmission line on the front passenger side of the car and received a clean bill of health for the vehicle ..as my son put a tow line by the right front wheel to try to ease it off a muddy shoulder after a spring rain.. The car with 14000 miles and 1 and a half years of factory warranty is being now analyzed by ford corporate and a ford shop in Missouri as well as another in Omaha as having serious transmission failures . I find it remarkable how when the customer has the car break down and gets the rental and the problem that the company seems to now believe major transmission breakdowns might not mean power train..after being a 5 time ford car owner I must say perhaps change of leadership is causing the ford brand to not mean what it once did... Disappointed in Nebraska...

Disappointed in Nebraska... Katharine welcome to the forum. P0A2F is traction motor overheating. I usually don't defend Ford, but this "transmission" issue surely could be the result of your sons actions. The dealer initially fixed the damaged line which you paid for. It wouldn't surprise me if the traction motor and perhaps other components inside the transmission were damaged from such overheating (likely due to the line being kinked / broken) and hence the transmission being operated with no cooling and perhaps no lubrication. The car has a transmission fluid pump bolted to the transmission case. The transmission fluid pump is turned by the input shaft connected to the engine and circulates transmission fluid through the transmission for lubrication and through an oil-to-air cooler mounted in the front of the radiator for transmission cooling. The transmission fluid pump only operates when the engine is running. Also, the transmission is part of the powertrain. So, I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying that Ford won't cover the transmission under the "limited" powertrain warranty? Limited means that there are conditions listed in the warranty that are not covered. Misuse of the car is not covered.
