John Brock Posted November 1, 2013 Report Share Posted November 1, 2013 Hi:I have a 2013 hybrid and have installed a towing hitch for a motorcycle trailer. I also purchased a powered taillight converter I need to install. It needs a 12v connection for power. Under the utility cover in the cargo area of the car, there is a battery connection. I can't figure out if this is the 12v battery connection I should use of if this is the high-voltage battery I should stay away from.Nothing in the tutorials or on-line information seems to have this important information.Does anyone know? On the right side of the cargo area is an always-on 12V connection, if you're looking for unswitched power, as for a powered cooler. I am looking to tow an 800 plus pound utility trailer with easily rolling wheels (it's not like I am going to the local tractor pull contest to drag a 50,000 pound sled across dirt!) to take to the dump avery two months or so, or haul something too big and bulky for the inside (or outside).
