HendersonD Posted January 24, 2014 Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Back in the fall when Ford lowered the mileage on the 2013 C-Max to 45/40/43 (city/highway/combined) they made a big deal about improvements they were going to make to the 2014 model year to improve mileage. Here is the press release The list of improvements include:New transmission gearingNew hood sealFront and rear tire deflectorsA-Pillar moldingsRear lift gate deflectorsNew engine oilThe EPA mileage for the 2014 model year was just posted and it is still 45/40/43, what gives? Is the gas mileage truly the same? Is it improved but Ford is being cautious after what happened with the 2013 model? The only ones that have yet to be confirmed is transmission gearing, and hood seal. I couldn't find any difference in the hood seal.There was no front tire deflector other than the stock one on the 2013 CMAX, did have rear one.I couldn't see any difference on A-Pillar moldingsDid have rear lift gate deflectors Maybe they hadn't got around to all the 2014 changes but that would be odd and potential for customer complains. :swear: Paul djc 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
