ptjones
I thought this was interesting. Looks like it is plug in only but compares all car makes. http://insideevs.com/monthly-plug-in-sales-scorecard/ Considering that the C-Max has not really had any refresh to the design the numbers are not too bad. Still as stated above the overall percentage of Ford sales is so small that it makes sense that Ford has not invested money to refresh it. I am sure they are focusing on the next generation C-Max and the full electric only Model E. Interesting that FORD is second in total Pin's for last 2 yrs. kostby
Combined sales of 2228 C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi Hybrids during April 2016, up 24.5% over prior-year combined sales. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2016/05/03/april-2016-sales.pdf Details and charts posted: 1621 C-MAX Hybrids and 607 C-MAX Energi Hybrids were sold during April 2016 http://insideevs.com/monthly-plug-in-sales-scorecard/ http://www.hybridcars.com/april-2016-dashboard/ As always, prior month charts and table are removed because the current chart contains all prior data. I edited the appearance of the charts slightly for readability as the number of months of data increases. kostby
A combined 1865 C-MAX Hybrids and C-MAX Energi Hybrids were sold during May 2016. If it isn't obvious by driving past a large Ford dealership, Ford is thriving on light-truck and SUV sales. As always, prior month charts and table are removed because the current chart contains all prior data. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2016/06/1/may-2016-sales.pdfhttp://www.hybridcars.com/may-2016-dashboard/http://insideevs.com/may-2016-plug-electric-vehicle-sales-report-card/ Edited July 6, 2016 by kostby
kostby
2118 combined, 1486 C-MAX Hybrids, and 630 C-MAX Energi Hybrids were sold during June 2016, both increases from May, but still down from prior year numbers. Two months short of four years since introduction (September 2012), and Ford consistently sells a combined total of well over 1000 C-MAX and C-MAX Energi models every month without spending ONE DOLLAR on national advertising! That must be seen as a WIN for 'word of mouth' advertising! It's possible that the better-advertised, better-selling, and recently-updated Fusion Hybrids and Fusion Energi Hybrids are bringing Ford some additional C-MAX sales, hybrid customers who prefer a hatchback configuration over a sedan. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2016/07/1/June-2016-Sales.pdfhttp://insideevs.com/monthly-plug-in-sales-scorecard/http://www.hybridcars.com/June-2016-dashboard/ As always prior month table and charts are removed because the updates contains all prior-month data. C-MaxSea
Nice to see the 'old buggy' creep up from 9th position in January to 5th position in June - not bad for an older model. Still the best out there in so many ways. :) :chacha: :) Edited July 6, 2016 by C-MaxSea scottwood2, Smiling Jack and ptjones

kostby
1428 combined monthly sales for September 2016739 C-MAX Hybrids and 689 C-MAX Energi Hybrids. ptjones
People really want electric cars! Its the end of the ICE age. As far as the CMAX goes NRG's are flat and Hybrids are down. Also total Plugin sales for all brands are down from last year. plus 3 golfer
People really want CHEAP electric cars! Its the end of the ICE age. Even with the "big stick" that the Feds and some states are using aka "tax" credits or other incentives on EVs, electric cars aren't selling well. raadsel
Get ready to say farewell to a lot of electric cars :headscratch: "That's because the narrative in the future of mobility is shifting."The ICE age is not ending. That article doesn't make sense to me. He seems to say that EVs are going to die because everyone will shift to self driving cars -- ignoring the fact that the propulsion system (gas, electric, hybrid) has nothing to do with if the car is self-driving or has a person behind the wheel. He also ignores that the reason for the current "resurgence" with gas guzzling type vehicles has to do with low gas prices, and at some point those prices will go back up. The major issue with EVs, at the moment (beyond the low gas prices) seems to be relatively low range and high battery costs. EVs might die off, if we can't create more efficient battery technology. A lot will also depend on recharging infrastructure, particularly a method to quickly recharge EVs. It might have been an interesting article if it had talked about these actual issues, instead it just kind of seems a mess that doesn't really make sense.
