Marc Smith
Anyone else miss the ability to lower the rear seats from the cargo area? Minor annoyance. I know, but being the cargo area is small enough you coudl lean in from the rear and flip a lever and fold them forward. cbharvest
fbov
I'd wager a light cord attached to the lever would provide the functionality you wish... run the free end of the cord through the seat belt loop, with a turk's head knot on the pulling end. hopefuly it's got enough leverage when pulled in that direction! Marc Smith
Frank, I was thinking about something along those lines...I have some grey seatbelt material, and maybe a "D" ring at the seat lever. so It "looks" factory...
SnowStorm
I agree the design is wrong - for a different reason. Those large levers really take away from the seat area. I wish the release was on the top of the seat back.
weebee
Not really. I had that feature on the 2011 Edge we had. Not a big deal to me.
BoomerGer
Similiar thread here, I saw somewhere (and now cannot find it) that someone posted the cargo area in sq ft for the CMax and the Prius with the seats down and with the seats up. Seats up the Prius had more room than 'Max, but seats down, the 'Max had more room than Prius. What I want are those numbers! But I cannot find them! Anyone seen the same thing I have? Can you direct me to it or send me the link? Oh wait! I found it. but it was for the Soul, not the Prius! NOT considering a Soul. Never mind! TANKS! fbov
I'll add a quick thought to use a tape measure if you need to carry fixed-size items. Sometimes, it's not the "volume" but rather the size of the usable space. Not everything can be crammed into odd shapes... even my Volvo wagon had to tilt a 4x8 sheet of plywood as it didn't fit between the wheel wells, and with 2' hanging out the back! The C-Max is a tad over 36" (measured) between the rear strut tower intrusion, and about 65" from tailgate to seat back (specs) so I've been able to fit a dresser in the back with no issues. The dash is about 8' from the tail gate, if you have something long and skinny. I'm seeing on Prius Chat that there's more like 38" between wheel wells, with more like a 70" deck length, consistent with a longer car. Can't speak to height, save to say I've fit a drop-leaf dining table in upright, using the side door. It all depends on what you want to haul... I couldn't fit a second dresser inside, so it went outside (cargo platform). HAve fun,Frank
