scottwood2
I like the look of this car. I found the pic some time ago and I don't remember where I found it. Now I can't find it again. Anyone know who owns this car? I like the black grill and wheels and wanted to talk to them about how they did that. Thx
kostby
Looks like it could be a PlastiDip spray-can application.https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php Here is a thread started by mtb9153 with pics of his white C-MAX and Braker's white C-MAX, both with black wheels and grillehttp://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3050-plastidip-paint/ There are lots of 'how-to' videos posted by the company on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/user/PlastiDipIntl Edited August 6, 2014 by kostby
fbov
+1 to all of the above. My grill is blacked out as well, but not the whole car. See my Fuelly avatar. Frank
Brent Bevil
Yep PlastiDip. Plasti-Dip is basically rubber and all you have to do is mask about two inches around the badges and spray the whole area. Once you put about 2-3 coats on (or however many you feel comfortable with) and let it dry, you just peel the Plasti-Dip off like it's a sticker. It feels like you're pulling off fruit rollup. The Plasti-Dip SHOULD peel right off between the creases. There's a million tutorial videos on YouTube on how to do it. It's really a piece of cake! Great Stuff. scottwood2
Thx for the replies. I used Google to try to find it but did not look in the gallery here. I guess I should have. Thx for the tips too
Ruby14SEL
Definitely looks like Plastidip. You can get a spray can at any hardware store for around $7. I did the grille on my Fusion. I taped around it with blue painters tape. I also took a garbage bag and put it behind the grille to keep the dip off of the radiator and heat exchanger.
