SPL Tech
Regardless of the headlamp switch position, the parking lights stay on whenever the door is open. This is a problem for me as I transport large amounts of cargo in my car and so I am always opening, closing and keeping open my doors. Last night my door was open long enough that I had to jump start the car as the 12v was dead. Is there a way to disable this feature so the lights do not come on when the door opens? ls973800
Found this in a 2014 Ford service manual for the C-Max Hybrid and C-Max Energi. Hope it might help you. Might be able to set it to stay on just for 3 minutes according to this Headlamp Exit Delay When the ignition is OFF and the multifunction switch is placed in the flash-to-pass position and released, the parking lamps and low beams are illuminated. They remain illuminated until:3 minutes have elapsed with a door open.30 seconds have elapsed after all doors are closed.the multifunction switch is placed in the flash-to-pass position again.the ignition switches to RUN.Within the 30 second delay and all the doors closed, opening any door results in the 3 minute timer restarting. obob
SnowStorm
Nice to know - it works. Checked both 30 sec and 3 min modes. Open door and double flash and all outside lights are off - but inside ones stay on.
SPL Tech
Yea, its just 3 min but the problem is I am opening and closing doors all the time loading stuff in and out of the car, which means the lights stay on for more like an hour, or until I am done.
