plus 3 golfer
Item 6 in snippet against firewall. Looks like you have to remove the engine cover at minimum to get to it. Edited June 15, 2015 by Plus 3 Golfer obob

tracks_II
A couple of weeks ago when I topped off the A/C I found that I could access the low pressure port by reaching through the opening in the right wheel well where the trans-axle comes out. I pulled the right front tire, turned the steering wheel all the way to the right and reached right up to the low pressure port. I had to work by feel, but there was a surprising amount of room back in behind the engine. I didn't run into anything hot, so didn't have to wait for the car to cool off before unhooking the hose. I took some pictures that show how to to do it and even shows the low pressure port. Once you know where to look, it's pretty straight forward. The blue hose is the low pressure. This picture shows how I routed it so I could reach it from below. This picture shows the location of the high pressure port, (red hose). Right front wheel well with the tire removed. The red circle shows the location of the low pressure port. You have to reach up (yellow arrow) to get to it. This view is under the car, looking up. Once again the red circle shows the location of the port. Close up view of picture 4. The blue hose is attached to the low pressure port. When you go looking for the port, it will have a black plastic cap screwed on it. Hope this helps. cmax-nynj
Thank you very much. Does your AC blow ice-cold on hot days now? I have two cars and I noticed the CMax does not blow cold enough on hot sunny days since day 1.

Of course, the only proper way to be sure the system has the correct amount of R-134a is to evacuate it and then put in the number of ounces Ford has specified. cmax-nynj
Thank you very much for the tip. I was able to find the Low pressure port after removing the wheel and felt it by hand. I added a little R-134a since I was worried about over-charging. I had temperature reading as low as 28F while the car was still in the air. Once rolling, however, I never got reading below 32F. I will try recharging again on a hot day. Ford engineers couldn't have made this more difficult. BTW, the remaining refrigerant from the hose had a green dye. Was it the same in your case?
