marshtex2
Trying to get build info on my new 2015 model, I go to http://www.etis.ford.com/, key in the VIN (triple checked for accuracy) 1FADP5AU3FL102479 and the wrong car comes up, a 2014 C-Max Energi. Mine is clearly not an Energi and was sold to me as a 2015 model.

It is visible near the driver windshield, looking through the window from the outside. There is also a scan code on my 2014. You would know if it is an Energi, that model has a round charge port in front of the driver door, and a really large battery protruding from the rear cargo floor. I've never seen the VIN lookup fail to be correct. This stuff is critical because the insurance company uses the VIN to determine rates. I generally use this site: http://researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Ford.html
kostby
ETIS is NOT an official Ford website for Ford vehicles in North America. owner.ford.com is the official North American site. Or here for the Monroney window sticker information. http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=1FADP5AU3FL102479Note that if/when Ford updates EPA numbers, the date at the bottom of the Monroney sheet is no longer the production date, but the date that the 'new' sticker with EPA numbers was updated. The doorjamb sticker has the actual production date for your vehicle. Edited June 18, 2015 by kostby
marshtex2
Thanks for your interest and info. Yes, I confirmed the VIN with what is showing under the windshield. I would hope to contact that site and tell them something needs to be fixed.
rjam
ETIS shows wrong description of our cars in a whole lot of cases. Says mine is 2014 Energy when in fact it is 2013 Hybrid. If you search this site you will find a ton of posts with wrong descriptions. Seems a lot of descriptions were changed all at once.

marshtex2
The 2014 C-MaX Energy that comes up in Etis with my VIN does not show the same options as my 2015 C-Max SE. Where can we get all that car-build info like come up on Etis?
