Bob999
I took delivery of my CMAX SEL today and am puzzled by the climate control. When I select "AUTO" the display includes information about the A/C--either ON or OFF. The A/C can be toggled ON or OFF and the system stays in AUTO mode. The manual says when in AUTO the system control temperature to the set level but I can't figure out how that could be true if the A/C is OFF. The manual describes the A/C on/off as a manual feature but doesn't discuss it in AUTO mode. Anyone have any info?
dtorres
When you hit the auto button A/C will automatically switch to On even if the system isn't using it so that it's available if needed. You can manually turn A/C off by hitting the A/C button while still in Auto mode but then if the system needs to cool (because you've adjusted the temp downwards) it won't be able to. It's giving you the option to run in Auto mode without A/C if for some reason you wanted to. Edited November 24, 2012 by dtorres
robodog61
Please help. I recently noticed a change with the way the climate control works. The 8" nav display lost the time and all my presets. I also notice that the climate control comes on every time the car is started. That is new - it didn't do that before. How do I disable this auto on feature? Anyone else notice that? Thanks

fotomoto
Auto temp will still work without A/C within its ability but those abilities are limited. Works best when outside air is cool and dry.
robodog61
I don't know what version of the firmware I have. How do I check? I haven't had time to read all the battery issues, but from what I have read, the problem is with the SE version with the smaller display. It all sounds related
