jkaminsky Posted August 23, 2016 Report Share Posted August 23, 2016 I can't make my car reproduce this, but it happens once in a great while. I'm on the brakes, usually its soft on the brakes, and usually on rougher pavement. I'm braking and suddenly for a split second the brakes aren't brakeing and the car glides/surges forward. Its a weird feeling, then the brakes apply again and work fine. My fear is that its the ABS engaging when it shouldn't, like its sensing traction loss when there isn't, and that one day its going to do this when it shouldn't be and I'm going to run into someone. It also happens in rain when going over slick surfaces like metal or those white, raised crsoss walk surfaces. Its a weird feeling, then the brakes apply again and work fine....I get this on turns, as if a little lateral acceleration shifts the brakes from regen to friction, and there's a delay when it switches. The one thing I should mention is I've had recall 14S03 applied, due to a hard RCM failure. Odd things happened before that recall that haven't since.
