korax234
Starting tomorrow my family is going on vacation! The destination is 679 miles away. I am going to do it on 1 tank of fuel.I know it will be harder since the car will be loaded with the family but this is still going to be a fun challange. Going from NE Ohio to Carolina Beach. We are going through DC and might stop to sight see there. I will also make a video on it. I have a small YouTube channel with mostly my Vibe GT video's on it but more C-Max ones coming up. Here is the link to my channel https://www.youtube.com/c/everydayCars Wish Me luck I will try to Post updates in this thread along the way to the Beach. Have a Great Day ptjones and obob
ptjones
If you want to increase your chances put 50 psi in tires and use High Octane Premium or better High Octane Non Ethanol Premium. :) Paul
Bill-N
Should be easy. It's downhill all the way. :lol2: ptjones
korax234
Well I made it down to carolina beach yesterday. I got 303 miles on the first half of the tank. Since I had my family with me I didn't put 50 psi in the tires or take the more eco friendly route. Took the PA Turnpike went through DC and than South on 95. It is downhill most of the way but going 72mph hurts mpg. And used air con a little more than 1/2 the trip. When I had I think 123 miles left on the trip I chickened out and filled up. The red fuel light was on. The car took 12.6 gallons. I think the miles to E was around 23....When I make the video Next week I will have the actual numbers. So I don't think I would have made it. If my family wasn't with me I would have taken a different route. Not used a/c and taken a gallon or 2 fuel jug with me in the car and just drove until I made it or ran out. I will update with the video Next week. Take care kyledamron1 and ptjones
korax234
WooHoo I finally got the Video Up here is the link. Been really busy so it took me awhile to get time to edit. Let me know what you think. It's only a short 3 minute video. Have fun with your C-max's I think I got great MPG without trying and using the A/C ptjones and kyledamron1
agilix
Not on a trip (which would not be favorable with unfamiliar terrains, highway speed, potential traffic and AC usage, etc., in my opinion), I am in the middle of a self-challenge to break my previous record of 712 miles on a tank during my daily route. Will post once i5 is done. ptjones
korax234
If this was my daily and not my wife's I would defiantly be trying for some mileage records. Good luck with 712. ptjones
