Buggs1a
Is there anyway to give the break pedal in my 2013 Ford C Max more resistance? It’s too touchy. Just the slightest touch and I’m jerking to a stop. Like it’s throwing me out of the seatbelt.
kyledamron1
It will mostly come with practice. It takes some time to get used to the regenerative braking. I don't believe there's a way to change the brake setting itself. Using the brake coach, and trying to get 100% every time helped me a lot with getting used to the jerkiness. obob and Redshift
SnowStorm
Though I'm thoroughly used to the brakes by now, they occasionally "grab" abruptly just before coming to a stop. I think it only happens after the car was parked outside overnight (usually garaged) and, perhaps, some rust has formed on the rotors. Then when you stop, regen works almost to a stop and then the friction brakes are applied and gives a jerk. A few hard stops (with low brake score!) should smooth off any rust. Of course, your problem may be different.
Buggs1a
I thought there is a way to make it soho I have to push a bit more on the break in any vehicle. There’s got to be a way to do this. Ugh.
jdbob
Looks like it's just a spring. Probably a nightmare to get down in there to put in a stronger spring.
Buggs1a
I’m getting used to it but man it sure would be nice to make it less touchy. Edited April 12, 2018 by Buggs1a
