WannaCMAX
I bought a 2014 cmax SEL with the moonroof. I never looked before, but it appears that the sliding apparatus is a piece of cloth. Not completely light blocking. Is mine missing a piece, or is this just how it is? On hot days, it seems like the sun could beat down through the top and heat up the interior.
fbov
It won't heat up near as much when closed. The cloth is as effective as an umbrella. I only opened mine when it got cold out. Frank
jestevens
Yes, it reminds me of those cloth shades that you see on outdoor patios to avoid direct sun. Love mine, dealer tried to sell me a 2017 and I wouldn't take it because I would rather have my 2013 with the pano roof. Very nice in fall and winter to get a little extra sun. Never really had a problem with the heat or cold vs. another car but if I lived in a high heat area like MS or AZ maybe I would forgo it. SnowStorm
We love the panoramic roof. Closed, it blocks a lot of heat but still lets in light and, as mentioned, it adds a lot of warmth when open in cold weather. Its also nice that it rolls open from the front so you only need to close it a bit if low angle sun bothers the driver.
