Kelleytoons
You're more than welcome. It sure helped me -- I think I'd have been lost without it (I'm not exact "handy", at least when it comes to automobiles).
tr7driver
One of the options for the Ford Extended Warranty is $50 for light replacement. I had a LED tail light go out on my Mercury Milan Hybrid and it was a $500 part, you had to replace the entire assembly, not just a bulb. I figured that might make the coverage worthwhile. It never occurred to me that changing a headlight bulb would be such a difficult issue. Maybe the extra $50 is a good investment.
markd
Can you add that to your existing warranty?
jestevens
Thanks Kelleytoons! , I saw another video they have that seems pretty good on replacing the cabin filter - although they show taking the whole glove box out to get to it - makes me realize just how modular the car really is - everything is bolted on. Kelleytoons
In this case $50 would have been about $45 too much (I actually paid $7 for the bulbs but they came two to a package). So, no, I would NOT have wanted that as part of my warranty. Headlights are more but still pretty inexpensive and now that I know how to do it I'm confident I could handle all the front lights pretty quickly. jestevens
I was going slow because I didn't want to wreck stuff. I had to find the right Torx bit, I don't have a plastic rivet pop tool, headlight assemblies aren't cheap, and I'm sure I heard some adhesive letting go when I was lifting up on the cowling probably but in the end it looks about the same as factory installed side still so hopefully all is well, find out for sure in the next rain storm.
