I just got my C-Max a few days ago and am looking for maximum coverage for the cargo area.  I frequently haul things with the seats down and need something that won't prevent me from sliding things in (I have found that rubber mats make it hard to load cargo).  Does anyone have the Canvasback liner that covers the seat backs?  How has it held up and would you buy it again?  Thanks!

I have one. I have the very first that they manufactured for the C-MAX. Since I had another one in a previous vehicle, and since it performed so well, I contacted them as soon as I got my C-MAX (May 2013 or soon thereafter--I can't remember exactly when) to order one for the C-MAX. (I paid full price for mine, and I have no affiliation.) They used my vehicle for the model, and it is my vehicle used on their web site for their photos. (The only difference between mine and what they sell now is that, since mine was the first, the logo came out in a slightly different location than what you will get now.)

I ordered mine with Velcro covered panels that allow me to use the d-rings in the C-MAX for tying down cargo. I also ordered it to work so that I can fold down one or both of the rear seats. You can discuss some alternatives with them, or just tell them that you want yours the same way as mine, and they will do the job for you.

I have used this cover for everything from wet scuba gear to a car full of hiking and traveling gear (the latter used in over 7,000 miles of travel). My CanvasBack still looks the way it did on the day that I first installed it. I did have some spills (even some cooking oil from appliances that traveled with me), but they cleaned up to again look like the day I first did my installation. To clean, I just used some carpet cleaner with a scrub brush, and then I used a handheld carpet spot cleaner (Bissel) to extract the liquid (and the oil).

I have been completely satisfied, and I would not hesitate to buy one again. Here is the thread that shows pics (scroll to my post) of the CanvasBack in my C-MAX. Also, check my photo gallery, and you will see how it looks with various items loaded.

BTW, the CanvasBack is an excellent choice for being able to slide items in and out of the vehicle. It sounds like a good match for you.

I bought one based on ScubaDad's recommendation and I have been very pleased.  They delivered quickly and it has been great with my muddy dogs and everything else that ends up in the back of my C-Max.  Well worth the price and I absolutely would buy one again.

Mine does have the split so I can lower one seat or the other.  When I ordered online the option for access to the d-rings was not an option - probably would have been if I called instead of just ordering online.

Hope you are as pleased with yours as I am with mine.

Thanks very much for the replies!  I'm going to go ahead and order.  It sounds like the perfect solution for me and I already can't stand the way the charcoal carpet shows every little piece of lint and dust.

Thanks again!

I may have ordered one of these also, but the wife and I went to the local fabric store the day before we took delivery of our C-max and picked up some nice Fleece material and cut some slits and slide it over the head rests. The main job was to keep dog fur off the carpets in the cargo area and back of the seats. We went with a nice yellow lab color, I'll let you guess why. LOL We got enough to line 2 cars and a sofa at home. For the C-max it can be suspended over either the front seat headrests or the rear. Easy, peasy and cheap. Perfect for dog abuse. We also put a little memory foam down in the rear cargo area for the dogs. They seem very happy back there. :)

Just got the rear cargo cover from Canvasback. As others have said, it fits great, and came in a few days. They EMAILED me to make sure that they had the correct options, and shipped it out the next day. My only disappointment is that it is a disappointingly small package for $150. It does make the rear cargo area slipperier.

My C-MAX is the one that is in the photo on their web page. I don't think that the CanvasBack is overly slippery, but it is nothing like the original fabric in the C-MAX. I like that I can slip things in and out without having to run from the hatch to one of the side doors in order to get something to slide in. Once inside, I use the tie-down rings, if it is the kind of thing that I worry will move around while on the road.

I now have 26,000+ miles on my C-MAX, and I got the CanvasBack right after purchase. It's still going strong.

I love this one, with the four dividers - the width fits just right - all of the dividers Velcro in so it's very flexible - and you can lay it down almost flat in a hurry if you need the extra cargo space without taking it out of the car.

If you don't have that much to carry you can flip up the hatch on the load floor - the little cubby that is in there can hold a bag of groceries..

Oh you said covers the WHOLE cargo area, I think I misunderstood the question.. hopefully the canvasback will work well for you..looks nice.  When I want to haul messy stuff I just spread out an old wool army blanket but depending on what you have to carry I can see how that might not work.
