Happy owner of a new to me 2014 cmax hybrid. So far I love the car, I've been averaging about 43-45 mpg. Only problem is after owning it for about 2 weeks it is back at the dealer getting the transmission replaced. 😭

Yes, it is still under factory warranty. It had about 35,800 miles when I brought it into the shop.

Two ways to look at this, first it is a bummer you have Trans problem  and second it's going to be a new CMAX pretty much and it didn't cost to much extra. :)

Ouch! Was it growling at you?
Wonder if this was a early MY?
What's the build date?

I'm not sure the build date, I'll have to check when I get it back. It was making the growling noise under acceleration when the ice kicked in. If it was under electric only power it wouldn't do it.

Let us know it this is completely gone when you get the new trans.  I think many of us have heard this noise.

Welcome to the C-Max family!  It is a great fun car!

Many, but not all... our 10/2012 produced vehicle remains quiet at 50K miles. OK, the tranny's quiet. Rear brakes were another matter.

You don't need those rear brakes, just get rid of them, it's a Hybrid. :lol2:

Checked the build date, it's 1/14. Just got it back today. The service at Richmond Ford in Richmond VA has been great. I don't know if it's anything to do with the new transmission or maybe a software update, but it seems to run better. Smoother maybe. Could just be perception, who knows. But it's back!

Paul at 50K, my rear brakes had worn out, and my front brakes had rusted out. There's a down side to regenerative braking if you drive regularly on salt-treat roads. I've seen this in rear brakes that had hung-up; rust gets under the contact surface of the rotor and the whole surface chips off the remaining core.

As for rear brakes... search EBFD. Don't leave home without them.

Do you think WD40 would keep them from rusting? :) With 144K mi. my brakes still look good, never use them, it waste gas. :lol2:
