  1. Thanks for the update, Scooter. And if any one does park on a hill, then I suggest using the hand brake before reversing to make sure the car is in gear and can move just as a precaution.
  2. What is the proper way to fill up? It seems to me topping off is the more accurate method since you know exactly where the gas tops off and can easily determine how much fuel it takes to top off the next time since you know it is the same level each time. If you don't top off then you are at the mercy of the pump nozzle stopping (which may not be operating correctly).
  3. I don't understand this statement. Could some one please elaborate on this. Is he saying because we sit still with engine off it is not using any gas so it calculates less amount of gas consumed? That can't be right since doing that may result in a tank with no gas...and that's a hazard.
  4. No kidding! I just filled up my tank again yesterday and there was a huge discrepancy in the consumed gas reported by C-Max vs. the pump. C-Max reported: 10.46 gallons, 462.8 miles Actual pumped: 11.77 gallons, 462.8 miles (from odometer reading) So it's keeping track of the miles just fine. But the gallons of gas consumed is just way off. And I noticed that the longer I wait to refill (i.e. use up more gas per fill-ups), the more inaccurate it gets. I've only had four fill-ups so I don't know if that's a trend or just a fluke. However, the last two times, I filled up at the same gas station using the same pump and the same technique (i.e. just set it and let it automatically shut off the pump w/o pumping more manually after the shut-off). Temperature did cool off some, so I'm not sure how big a deal that is.
  5. Here's another article about Ford wanting to openly discuss their MPG...I applaud Ford for this. http://www.mlive.com/auto/index.ssf/2012/12/ford_not_shying_away_from_mpg.html

  7. Thx Maximus. Then I fall under the camp that considers EPA test for highway MPG as unrealistic.
  8. I must admit I too thought it meant real world hwy speed of 65mph.
  9. I just put 40 psi in all four tires today. Took a fifty mile round trip and it was not bad at all. I can sense a little more firmness in the ride but totally comfortable still. The route included inclines up a small mountain (one steep incline and one medium incline). Got 40+ mpg overall for the trip. Had defrost on occasionally as well. Outside temp was around 42F. I will compare mpg with my commute route next week to see if it impacted mileage.
  10. The Trip 1 and Trip 2 info screens do show the respective MPG info for each trip data. Are you asking how to get those screens to display? Or are you asking if there is a way to display trip MPG info in the other screens? If it's the later, then I don't know if that is possible.
  11. My experience is it does a better job at acceleration/throttle control than i can (based on the meter that shoes kw usage in Empower view). So I am assuming it can prolong battery usage and improve FE.
  12. I disagree with that statement about the C-Max Hybrid being optimized for the EPA test. In my other post elsewhere, I mentioned that in my daily commute in traffic on the freeway, my speed will go below 60 mph. Hence, if the car can drive in EV mode, then the better fuel economy I will get. That's real-world gain in fuel economy, that's not optimization for some test!

  14. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache?
  15. I experience the same issue. I do a refresh and I see the post gets posted just fine.
  16. Good point. Instead of display a couple of MPG numbers, simply display an MPG graph at various speeds (say in 10 mph increments).
  17. All the time. I have to close it very hard. I noticed (although only just once) that when the ajar message was displayed, the hatch does seem loose on the right side. EDIT: I have a manual hatch.
  18. From the article... That's too bad (but expected from Ford's perspective)!!! The EPA really needs another HWY test that includes HWY speed of 65 mph (minimum) for uncongested freeway driving simulation.
  19. On my daily commute to work, traffic on the hwy is congested enough that my speed varies from 30mph to 65mph. On my back to home from work, I sometimes leave late enough that there is no traffic so I can drive at 65-70mph. With that in mind, I think the HWY portion of the EPA test is legit. However, I think they need to modify the test to also include a second HWY test where the car is driven at 65mph (minimum) for a longer duration to get the mileage at that speed. They will then have 3 mpg numbers for the consumers: HWY (congested), HWY (uncongested), and CITY. This will give a better picture of the car's MPG in those various scenarios.
  20. Speeding 2 C-Maxing, You can still cancel the premium care warranty by going to dealer and put it in writing. Then after it is cancelled, you can purchase a new one online.
  21. I use Trip 1 for any trip I go on (reset for each trip, one way or two-aw, depending on what I'm interested in), and Trip 2 for the fill-ups.
  22. My C-Max showed wrong time.this morning. Had the car for about one and a.half.months with 2000 1800+ miles EDIT: Corrected the miles I have so far when the clock problem occurred.
  23. They have now. But fuelly users need to edit their car profile to say Energi.
  24. They did.change. But fuelly users need to edit their car profile to be Energi.
  25. Fuelly.com has created a separate model the C-Max Energi.
