  1. My C-Max has about 1100+ miles now and I have same issue with blank icons on the channels. However it was always with Sirius. Even if I turn it off then on, the blank icons are still there. I haven't tried FM. I will see if it also the same with FM the next time it happens.
  2. Another factor to the C-Max not getting the 47mpg on freeways (at 65 - 70mph) could be due to aerodynamics? Seems like the Prius form factor lends to a lower drag coefficient? I work in Walnut Creek, CA so my commute is on 680. I can see that at 65mph, I'm mostly getting around 32-40mpg depending on the elevation along the 680 freeway. My first tank of gas netted 46.2 mpg. So far on the second, I'm getting about 45.5 mpg or so. My commute is about 50% hwy and 50% city/backroads. However, when I'm actually on the highway, I don't normally drive 65-70mph for long. As a matter of fact, since I got the C-Max, I've been driving near 62-65 mph to maximize the mileage. This is possible since during commute time, traffic doesn't go faster than 65-70mph for long. Maybe I'll do some testing with the Trip 2 and reset it during the freeway stretch and see what the average mpg is. Although it's tough to stay at 65mph for long during commute time.
  3. My C-Max has around 800 miles so far and I have been getting ~55mpg on my way to work (55% city at speed of 35-50mph and hwy driving speed of 55-65mph for a distance of 25 miles). On the way back from work, I take a different route that gives me ~45mpg and I think it is slightly more hwy. What I noticed (and to address your comment quoted above) is the terrain itself makes a big impact on gas mileage. So that is another factor that may cause varying mpg results...and this is from the same car on different section of the same hwy.
  4. I've had my first fill up since I purchased the C-Max two weeks ago and I got 46.2 mpg (posted on fuelly.com). This is with about 50% city/hwy and going at max hwy speed of about 62-65mph. I was driving essentially the same as you...coming up to speed limit and then backing off on the gas until the EV mode kicks in. I also try to stay below 2K on the Tach when starting from a stop position (as long as I don't impede traffic behind me). On some city routes less than 5 mile, I was seeing 80+ mpg (but I think this is due to the slight downhill slope. So if I had to go back the same route, I'd probably get a combined mpg of 60+ mpg or so). So far on my second full tank, the mpg has dropped down to 40+ mpg. I think this is due to not being has concious about my driving. Anyway, good post!
  5. Since you are on a roll with your testing, how about testing it with a USB hub? ;-)
  6. Just got a new C-Max SEL! Since I picked it up last night, I have driven about 40-50 miles. 80% in city (25-45 mph) and 20% in freeway (60-65 mph). Got 48+ mpg!!! While on freeway with cruise control set to 60mph, I noticed that the mpg meter was going up/down depending on road condition (i.e. slight incline or flat or slight decline). But it was maintaining above 47mpg reading. That's pretty impressive to me. My previous vehicle was a small pick-up truck that gave me 18mpg combined city+hwy driving. Good start so far!
