  1. I looked up info on http://www.etis.ford.com/home.do & noticed that I had two Outstanding Field Service Actions listed.

12M02 - SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCO L INTERFACE MODULE (APIM)
13B10 - FUEL ECONOMY CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

Any idea what 12M02 is about??

They are listed via ETIS, but when I check http://owner.ford.com I do not see anything listed.

  2. Nice mnr, a whole herd of rabbits & "cavies" (not heard that one).  Hope you find a pic to add.

har, your tree sounds a lot prettier than my wheel barrows & saw horses!  I can't quite picture it.

Teased these two saw horses in on Monday - awkward shapes.

Tossed this shot in for fun, first ferry ride with Grouper.  He tried to flop into the water a couple times, but I kept him on a tight leash.

Thought about titling the shot "We(s)t Turn"  or "Widing on Wata"

Cavies is the terminology used by the American Rabbit Breeders Association for Guinea Pigs. A better explanation as to why the term cavies is used can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinea_pig

  3. We are the second owners of our C Max, purchased pre-owned certified from our local Ford dealer. I called Ford Customer Service and inquired about the rebate. They said we were eligible for the program. She said they anticipate sending checks out at the end of September.

Even though it has not been stated yet, I am thinking that as long as your purchase/lease started before the Press Release was made, you'll get the rebate.

I am also thinking that if the purchase/lease is of a pre-owned unit, it must be done from a Ford Dealership.

That's cool that even though you're the 2nd owner you still qualify.

  4. I will call him Max unless I have problems.  If so, I will call him Gizmo (from Gremlins)......... :hysterical:

That's about as bad as my wife & I calling a male cat "Stripe" cause he has a white stripe in a sea of orange on his face, plus the attitude to match, & his sisters, Kate (Billy's girlfriend) & Marla (Billy's supervisor in Gremlins 2).

Concerning C-Max name, we chose Neytiri (AVATAR) being the C-Max is environmentally friendly.

That would be nice if we could change the voice to something a bit less robotic sounding, as well as change the NAV icon to something other than the red compass point.

  5. I LOVE MY NEW C-MAX!  I have owned nothing but Toyotas for the past 30 years. I even bought Toyotas for my kids and for my mother.  But my husband and I are now thrilled that I bought a FORD C-MAX in March 2013.   I am a retired engineer and do exhaustive analysis before purchases - my husband is also a engineer and scrutinizing as well.   When I needed a new car, I wanted to be environmentally responsible as well as a better supporter of American manufacturing.  I started some research in November before the C-MAX really was on the market.  I looked at hybrids of all kinds.  My highest priorities were mpg - had to be greater than 35 and had to have enough horsepower to get up my 14-degree grade on the mountain road where I live here in Portland, Oregon.  I finally test drove a PRIUS V and found the driver area so confining that I kept bumping my elbow and that there was not enough horsepower for me to get up my hill each day, especially in winter.  Then I test drove the C-MAX and it was no contest!  As far as electronics, both cars have lots of wonderful features - I can post later about the specific ones that make the C-MAX such a wonderful experience to drive (and such a wonderfully comfortable experience for the passenger - tall men who get it my car are thrilled by the headroom).  I have driven the car for about 2500 miles and I even have enough confidence in its power that I had U-HAUL install a class-2 hitch for my small trailer - the C-MAX hauls this without the slightest hesitation.  The only thing that I have to adapt to is the fact that the C-MAX turning radius is not as good as my Toyotas.  My last car was a Toyota Sienna, a hefty minivan.  Its funny, when I go to Costco and load up, my C-MAX seems to hold a huge load - I don't miss my Sienna size at al! And lots of people stop me to admire my car - I have an Ice Storm exterior with black leather interior - model SEL.  Most people say that they didn't know that this car existed.  Anyway, just thought that I'd share my complete satisfaction with others who can appreciate. I  keep mentionig Toyota in this post on because it was the closest competition - but as I've stated, I am happy with my choice of the FORD C-MAX and each time I drive this car is a real pleasure.  I am attaching a picture of my car for the aesthetics and also a picture of the hitch because there has been lots of discussion about that - it does work!  Hope this helps someone.

First off, welcome to the forum & the wonderful world of C-Max ownership.

Secondly, as an engineer what thing(s) would you like see added to the C-Max?

  6. I have 31,400 miles on my car and I average 59mpg in summer and 42 in winter (in town). I love this car. Of course, I have not had any problems with it yet. But, so far so good.

My dealer know quite a bit about the cars now. When I bought mine, I knew more than they did, however.

    As a side note;

When I took my car in for all the updates, the service guy almost shouted "Is that correct? 31,000 miles? Seriously? Geeze, that is a lot of miles!"   :)

    Matt

We've had our C-Max Hybrid since Sept. 28 & we have about 33,000 miles

  7. Apparently as part of the pending/current law suit against Ford about the EPA Fuel Estimates, there's going to be some changes done to the 2014 Ford C-Max Hybrid, as well as changes on the labels for the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. According to the article below, current Ford C-Max Hybrid Owners/Leasees will be getting a check as well.

  8. this HAS been mentioned before, not in this thread but several of the update threads regarding the update. the info from Ford advises the dealer to ensure they have a hardwired (ethernet) connection. so many folks here were saying their dealer couldn't do the update because of the wireless connection being used was getting dropped half way thru the update, requiring a restart from the beginning.

It sounds like those dealerships, where problems have happened, rely too much on Wi-Fi. I actually mentioned to my SA about Ford's recommendation to have the servicing computers hard wired & he actually liked that suggestion, that he was gonna mention it to the higher ups.

  9. It's a hybrid not an EV so it really isn't meant to propel the car at high speeds; rather aid the ICE.  While in EV at 60+mph, applying enough throttle to accelerate will drop it out of EV.   You'll have to feather the throttle to keep it in EV at high speeds; a slight rise, a gust of headwind, etc will be enough to require additional power from the ICE.

As I stated previously, I've done pulse & glide, I've even sped up to 5 MPH+ the speed I want, set cruise & using Set- coasted down to the speed I want. The majority of our freeway driving is 20+ miles in a 70 MPH Speed Zone, & so far after 1 one way trip, & 1 round trip, we've only manged to get EV to kick in above 62 MPH while going downhill. So either the roadways around here are not level or there is some other factor happening.

When going 65-70, EV Assist will kick in.

I verified from the SA that 13B07 was successfully installed before leaving the dealership with the car.

  10. Not necessarily, you can download it on to a thumb drive and install it yourself. You have to log into your sync account to get it. There are instructions on how to do it there also. Most seem to have been able to do it quickly( 30 mins or so) and not have any problems. Others have had some issues with downloading, and or installing. There is a lot of info in this thread about it.

Kinda hard to do it by self when no USB drive available

  11. Did the 30,000 mile maintenance & installation of 13B07 & thanks to having enough credit built up, we got the servicing for free.

Found out that the dealership's servicing computers are wireless, from the SA, I mentioned Ford's recommendation about havin' all servicing computers hard wired to the Internet, & he said he'd put in that recommendation for consideration to help the dealership with updates/upgrades.

  12. How about a Pacific Region Gathering say somewhere which is equal distance for all regions of the Pacific Coast.  Northern, Central, Southwest.  Not sure where that is, but I'm open for suggestions.  Just as a possibility when I was doing summer gatherings with the GMC Syclone/Typhoon Owners, we'd meet in South Shore Tahoe.  Got owners from Washington, Oregon, California.  Not sure if any one drove from Arizona. My 2¢

You could do a further breakdown & do a Pacific Northwest region gathering & a Southwest region gathering.

For the Southwest region, you could use Vegas or Phoenix (as examples).

For the Pacific Northwest region, you could use Yakima, WA, Ellensburg, WA or Boise (as examples)
