  1. Glad to hear about the Hybrid battery lasting a lot longer and the mileage Paul and Snowstorm got so far on their Cmax.., Forita our 2013 C Max took a dent in the tailgate the other day , but it still closes and locks ok. Was told not worth fixing tailgate because value of car is roughly $4500 because we have 124.000 miles on her. We were thinking about trading her in with a heavy heart, because we were also concern about the Hybrid battery since Forita is now seven years old. But after reading your good reports, we decided to hold on to Forita. Thanks...
  2. Thanks for the response, I have CMax SE. I would say # 5 Fan is still running and little to no air coming out. Will change temp sensor , now that I know it has one. Thanks for the info.
  3. To any fellow CMax owners...I am trying to fiqure out what is causing this...Lately the AC quits blowing , the air is still cold so do not think it has to do with freon. Anyhow to correct the situation, I have to turn off AC for awhile, then put it back on and it works fine till next time. I brought it to my dealer but the problem is it does not do it then , so there is no way to really diagnose unless it acts up. But I been thinking maybe it has something to do with a temp sensor , but not sure if it has one. Really got me baffled , any help appreciated.
  4. I have 2013 CMax that is now 4 years old with 65000 miles with the org tires. I have brought my car in and had my tires rotated every 5000 miles , kept my tire pressure at 40 psi and those tires still have half of tread life left , this was told to me by my service dept manager when asking about buying new tires. My mileage today for my car is now 48 mpg, I think you overflating your tires to get better mileage is dangerous to you and your family.
  5. Paul, Wow impressed 144,000 miles and still running strong for a 2013 model. You could be also right on the price of gas , but it did not help when Ford changed the mileage statement after we brought in 2013, but the rebates did help ease the hurt. The tires that came with the car are great 62 ,000 miles and still have tread, but do get them rotated every 5000 miles when I get oil change, know manual say 10,000 but oil is cheaper than an engine, my dad always use to say..
  6. Been having Forita for 4 years now, she has 62,000 miles and still runs like the day I brought her. The only problem she ever had was the radio went out and I had a new one installed . Other than the recalls no other problems, still running on the orginal tires and brakes. But sad to say, her value is down because of all the bad press CMax has gotten. But still not looking to get rid of her.
  7. If you can afford to buy extended warranty, buy it. My radio went out in car the other day, that also work the sync system, If not for the extended warranty I would be paying major dollars for this repair. This car is more computer than any other car I have ever owned. This one situation that happened has already paid my money back in buying the extended warranty.p
  8. This is one thread that needs to die, It has gotten really old about buy backs. The problem I see you did not like the car in the first place, because if you did you would have gotten another C Max. I own a 2013 CMax SE now with 32000 miles and have not had a battery problem, but I do not leave stuff plug into my car like an office and always turn my radio, air off before leaving car just Iike I done with all my previous automobiles One other thing my car is left in the garage for weeks at a time and starts every time . So yes I am saying it, it Is a damn good car and I for one rather see threads about members enjoying their C Max. In closing yes there are lemons not only on cars , but everything, just because you got a Monday car does not mean all of the CMax are bad, from what I read in this past year a lot of you had more problems with dealers not knowing what to do. Have a good day....
  9. Adrian_L No just the Key , but do have a security alarm in the car. On the key only four buttons: lock, unlock, hatchback, panic. Will remember about pushing the lock button down twice in the future to look for car, def do not want to give anyone heart attack. We have enough things going on in New Orleans, Lol.
  10. Hi all, was reading the forumn about panic alarm on key, I have it on my key and it does come in handy when looking for car. Mine is a SE with the Nav package and Winter package.
  11. Thanks, Jus-A-CMax , you def shine a light on this, I think I will change the way I buy cars instead of trading every 5 years, think going to hold on to this one and drive it to the end. You are right it is a great riding car with power under the hood when needed. Have always been happy with the mileage I have gotten and I own it outright. Going to be a shock to the wife who always got a new car every 5 years, but hey things change...Lol.
  12. As much as I love this car, I would not buy another because the value has went really down , my 2013 C Max is now worth 16,000 because of all the negative reports. The car is only 2 years old with 24,000 and has been a great car , but I usually like to trade my cars in 5 years and this one will take a big hit. That's over 12,000 lost in 2 years. The car is an SE loaded with everything the SEL has except for leather seats, which I did not want. By the way the SEL with same mileage is only worth 1500.00 more. It's a shame that this car got trashed by JD and Consumer Reports and owners because of a few problems, but nothing said about GM vechiles killing people or VW major problems. This was the first American car to take on Toyota .One other thing the most that had problems with car battery was the one that had the radio with all the buttons instead of the one with the NAV and My Sync. I also cancel my Consumer Report subscription, I find they were not fair at all about the CMax. To the ones that got their buy back because of Lemon Laws, glad you got your money back, but for the rest of us we now own a car worth a lot less. Thanks.
  13. No thanks, I will stick with my Dealer because of the excellent service dept, they have, especially when it comes to fixing a car right the first time. That to me is worth a lot more than the goodwill payment notice that got overlooked by them.
  14. Sounds great, made my day. Will def be calling my dealer guy today.........Thanks
  15. Adrian, This is one time I hope my dealer is wrong........lol
