Thanks jdbob for posting this info. I put them all in today and figured out that when I had my tires rotated, at the dealer, they didn't reset the monitor for the new tire positions. At least they didn't match correctly with the codes provided in this post. I searched the internet and found that the service manual procedure isn't the easiest way to reprogram the TPMS monitor. With the car started (ready to run), I cycled the hazard lights on/off three times. (Some posts said up to six times.) The horn beeped and the TPMS light started flashing. I started with the Left-Front tire and let air out until the horn beeped, then proceeded to each other tire (Right-Front, Right-Rear, Left-Rear) in turn. The horn beeped after letting out a few PSI with each and when I turned the ignition off, there were no more horn beeps and the TPMS shows the tires in the correct order. After performing the above procedure, they matched exactly with the pressures in each tire.

I haven't been on here much for the past few months and didn't know anything about the new ratings. What a surprise when I came home from work last night and I had a FedEx package from Ford! My C-Max was built in September 2012 and I purchased it new in October 2012, so I doubt they're sending the checks in build-order.

I didn't catch the door on anything but I knocked over a street sign once when a gigantic hairy spider crawled up my leg, inside my pants, while I was driving. It was at least two inches across...well...maybe only one inch...which is still gigantic in my book! I'm sure I was quite entertaining to anyone who saw me jumping around outside the car and dropping my pants in the street.

I never did find a pool noodle in a color that I wouldn't mind having in the back of my car, but I did find a 4-foot piece of "Gutter Fill" at Menard's that does the trick nicely. (See Picture) It's 5-inches wide and about 3 or 4-inches thick and beveled. I cut it to 41-inches so it fits snug at the sides, with a slight bend to match the curve of the rear deck, and placed it with the high-side towards the rear and the bevel facing the back seat. The rough foam material grabs the carpet really well to keep it from moving around; almost like Velcro. It's also a pretty close match for my carpet...

Mine arrived yesterday afternoon...Central Illinois...last name starts with W...C-Max purchased Oct 26, 2012. FedEx stuck it inside my screen door, which really set-off our Boxer, Miss Molly. Ringing the bell gets her barking but opening the screen door appears to translate as trying to come in without an invitation. Attempted uninvited entry causes every hair on her back to stand straight up and gives the offending individual the impression that she will come through the five-inch window on the side of the door. Needless to say, the FedEx driver was already back in her truck by the time I got to the door, even though it only took me a few seconds to get there.

We have a, nearly, three-year-old female boxer that we got when she was only 8 weeks old. She is the sweetest and orneriest dog I have ever met and we wouldn't trade her for any other dog. My brother was visiting from out of state last week and brought his two puppies. They had their first birthday while visiting us but they're already 175 and 150 pounds and 30+ inches tall...Irish Wolfhounds! They were afraid of our high-energy little girl. LOL

I didn't think they really had any teeth because there was no fine or other threat listed, but I thought it was pretty funny at the time. We were in a long line to get into the lot on the east side of the Field Museum but there were enough line-hoppers way up ahead that the lot was full right before we got in. People just started pulling in between other cars expecting them to make way, and many of them did! We were hoping to get into that lot because my wife has had both knees replaced and a long walk can be exhausting for her, but she's not bad enough to feel she needs a handicapped placard. Anyway, we went to the Soldier Field garage and, after driving through several lanes looking for a space, we spotted several openings that everybody ahead of us was driving by. They were right by the entrance to the elevators and we laughed as we took one. Others started to pull in, saw they were FE spots, and kept on going. I can only hope one was the last line-hopper that didn't make it into the other lot...

Four of us, my wife, daughter, grandson and I, went to Shedd Aquarium yesterday. We parked in this space at the Soldier Field parking garage in Chicago. Roundtrip was 260 miles, 42MPG.

My general direction of travel was NW. Wind was 7-8MPH from the WSW, sort of front from left.

12,265 miles as of the end of the above trip. I agree, 39 is pretty pathetic, but that was sticking to the speed limit with Eco Cruise on. I've been doing a little better than that, but not much. Still working on it...

Yes, they had to order the part but only took a few days for it to come in. It was covered under warranty. Mine actually caught as I was raising the seat back. The belt buckles lower as the seat slide slightly forward when the back is lowered. When it was coming up as I raised the back, it caught on the stitching on the edge of the seat. The mechanic thought a spring in the buckle was installed incorrectly.

The picture is a screen capture of a MS Excel graph of the interstate portion of my trip home from work yesterday. I use an ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD Scanner with the Torque Pro Android App on my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. I set Eco-Cruise at the OBD reported speed (from the car's systems) of 65MPH. It doesn't seem odd that the speedometer needle was at 66MPH and the GPS showed about 64MPH; I've always noted this difference no matter what car I was driving. What does seem odd is that the C-Max's computer reports lower MPH than the needle shows on the speedometer. I started collecting data at the beginning of the on-ramp to Interstate 74 at Mahomet, Illinois (Exit 274) at 2:43PM and ended with the data at the beginning of the off-ramp at Downs, Illinois (Exit 242) at 3:11PM. The upper-most blue line is Engine RPM which I divided by 5 to get it into a more easily viewed range on the graph. The graph shows it hovering mostly around 400, which would be approximately 2000RPM and peaking at about 610, which would be approximately 3050RPM. The next darker blue line is my GPS bearing, which is generally around 300-degrees, or a WNW to NW direction of travel. The light blue line is Wind Direction collected online from Weather Underground history data. Weather Underground didn't show very detailed wind direction data, but it was from the WSW, which was generally varying from the left and towards the front of the car depending on my direction of travel. The purple line is my altitude in meters, which is also easier to view in the graph than in feet. The red line is the OBD-reported speed, which varied a lot less than the GPS reported speed. The green line is OBD-reported instant MPG. (Torque Pro has a 255MPG upper limit.) I only entered EV Mode three times while traveling at 65MPH, two of which were right after entering the Interstate and the third about 1/4 way into the trip, or just after the Mansfield, Illinois Exit #266. The orange line is Wind Speed collected online from Weather Underground history data. It was 7-8MPH for the entire trip. The numbers along the bottom are the data points, in beginning-to-end order; each is about 1/2 second apart. The ambient temperature was steady at 79-80 for the entire trip. Entering the interstate, the ramp goes downhill and transitions to a slight uphill at merging onto the interstate. Shortly after merging, there is a downhill, a steeper uphill, and another steeper downhill that levels off somewhat but maintains a general downhill for a while. I began placing vertical brown lines to mark MPG transitions at the first instance of entering EV Mode. As you can see, the MPG tracks very closely with Engine RPM and Altitude. Fuel Economy for this approximately 32 mile section of my commute home was 39MPG. Torque doesn't have parameter information for HV battery level; I would have tracked that if it did.

My C-Max was updated last Wednesday and I spent this past workweek (Thu-Mon this time) compiling FE data for post-update comparison. Here's what I got: Average Daily Round-Trip Miles:93.7 Average Daily EV Miles: 20.3 (This was a decent improvement...) Average Daily Regen Miles: 1.7 Average Daily Gallons Used: 2.22 Average Daily MPG: 42.2 (...but this wasn't.) Doesn't seem like a drastic improvement. Will see what happens once I start actually trying to save gas...

Had my C-Max updated today. My Regen miles were reset and it ran in EV at 65 and 70 MPH during a quick trip on the interstate. I noticed after the update that, while going 65 MPH in EV on level interstate, the blue box around the kW gauge (showing where it will switch from EV to ICE) was nearly up to the second line while the gauge was only at about the first line. It looks like it'll be able to better maintain EV mode when, for instance, going uphill.

I just spent this past workweek (Fri-Tue for me) gathering pre-update data for comparison. My C-Max goes in for the update tomorrow morning. My commute consists of about 8 miles at the beginning and 6 miles at the end with speed limits of 45 and 55 MPH, and a 32 mile stretch in the middle with a speed limit of 65 MPH. What I've done is follow the speed limits with ECO-Cruise set and recorded the following Pre-Update information: Average Daily Round-Trip Miles: 94.1 Average Daily EV Miles: 17.9 Average Daily Regen Miles: 1.8 Average Daily Gallons Used: 2.24 Average Daily MPG: 42.0 This testing dropped my latest fill-up from the previous 42.8MPG to 38.3MPG today, a difference of about 4.5MPG...Ugh! I'll repost after I've compiled the post-update data during my next workweek.

I reset my oil monitor after my first oil change. It hadn't come on yet after another 5200 miles. (Had oil changed anyway...) Does it come on after 10,000 miles or what?

I, too, have the base SE, 202A Package, with the basic 'SYNC with MyFord' system, which I purchased because I didn't need all the extras that come with My Ford Touch and navigation. I have a standalone GPS with lifetime map upgrades that is quite sufficient for navigation and it only cost me $100. And I have a smartphone that provides most of what those extras can do, including the GPS, for a lot less money than one of Ford's packages. Before buying my C-Max, I had also read that there were a lot of issues with SYNC, especially SYNC systems with touchscreen and navigation. I should mention that everything to do with 'SYNC with MyFord'; Bluetooth, Line-In, USB Port, Phone Functions, etc. works fine except that I've had to reset the system and reconnect with the devices I use a couple of times, several months apart. It's not a terrible burden to perform the reset, but it would be nice not to have to. That's why I'm curious about a possible update, but I'm not screaming that I haven't received it yet. I don't have Sirius/XM but can't imagine any problems with it if it can be plugged into the Line-In jack inside the center console.

Thanks, HotPotato. My Sync system was locking up a few months ago and I had to pull a fuse to reset it. It's worked fine since then, until yesterday, but I'll have to find which fuse it was. I don't really care what version I have, but an update to fix this occasional problem would be appreciated. I spend over two hours a day in this car and it's nice to have something to listen to besides road noise, trucks passing me, rap "music" on the radio, or the Sync 'lady' telling me that I can't use voice commands with my USB drive, which has music on it that I actually like.
