  1. Replacing the GPSM module was the only thing that ended up fixing this problem on my C-Max Energi
  2. It's noticeable for sure. Just have to get used to it
  3. I used to go 80mph to Virginia from Ohio through the Allegheny mountains in my 2007 Camry Hybrid, and got 40mpg. This is a real car. So, yes. It can be done. Maybe not with the C-max though. I'm keeping my eye on how the Fusion Energi folks are doing on long, fast trips. If they are getting better results I may trade in my C-Max Energi in a year or two.
  4. Good. Have you noticed a 'Navigation Loading...' message in certain areas, and the map goes blank for some miles? It always happens in the same areas for me.
  5. Look at the other Nav issue posts. You may need to replace your GPSM module. Basically it's the antenna. This will fix the driving off of the road issue.
  6. Earlier I said No, but after getting the Nav fixed (finally!), and better mpg with the advent of warmer weather, I'll say... maybe. Beleive me, that's a big step forward after my initial frustration.
  7. Excellent. To me, this fix made a big difference in how I felt about the car, and Ford, as a whole.
  8. Excellent.. The GPSM worked very well for me too.

    Test Drive

The mpg goes way down at 70 and above, which is how I drive. I probably get 32-35 (C-Max Energi), but I don't have many long trips under my belt yet.

  11. I have 2.15.17 (I think), and had the problem until a GPMS unit was replaced. Now the GPS location is spot on.
  12. Did you get your dealer to put in a new GPMS? See above
  13. I should have mentioned that I notice the problem in the back, not the front.
  14. Yes, I've noticed twitchy steering too. One other thing is that it seems that the car has a slightly hard sounding clunk whwn hitting minor potholes just the right way (sometime they are hard to avoid). Anyone else notice that?
  15. Excellent. Mine is working too, but had to replace the GPMS (antenna) 1st.
  16. Here's the latest on my saga, after they replace the GPMS (unit in the antenna, I think). Okay, interesting results from driving all around Ohio this weekend: I headed South to the Cambridge area (100 miles) and the Navigation system worked flawlessly! From there I went to Massillon, and everything worked fine. From Massillon I went north from I-71 into Strongsville. At 303 & 71 I started having the same problem, Navigation Loading... but seemed to recover ok The next day I successfully computed a route from Strongsville to New London, which is about 50 miles east On the way to New London the map went back into Navigation Loading… until I got a little ways out of Strongsville. Then it recovered and worked fine From New London back into Strongsville everything worked fine until I got close to Strongsville…. Navigation Loading…. This morning Leaving Strongsville heading east into work, the map immediately rebooted and went into Navigation loading until I got at the same spot approaching I-77, then everything worked perfectly The only conclusion I can come to is that the Strongsville area is haunted. Or possibly something may be corrupt in my A3 map, I think. I have approached Strongsville from the East, West and South. Outside of that area everything works fine. At least the car's poistion is displayed properly on the map now
  17. I think everything built before 1/15/13 has teh old stuff. Mine was built on 1/8 and it has the old firmware and map A3. Bad GPMS too.... 18. oK, my dealer replace the GPMS module, and that seemed to fix the location GPS location issue. Yay! One issue remains, I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this. Here is my explanation I sent to the dealer: The GPMS seems to work perfectly! My position on the map is right on the money. Thanks! One weird problem that remains, and it may be hardware related, software or a corrupt A3 map chip. LAST NIGHT AFTER WORK: I go to --- once or twice a week from work. Whenever I set the address there as my destination, I get the following message: "Route Calculation Failed" Then the display goes back to the map, no route of course. So, last Night this is what happened: "Route Calculation Failed" message Started Driving to -- About halfway (I did not note exactly where) The Nav system went black for a second, then went to the 'Home Screen'. In the upper right hand got the message: "Navigation Loading..." After a while the screen went black again, system appeared to reboot and I got the message "Scheduled system maintenance" - then "Navigation Loading" Just before I arrived, the screen went black again, system appeared to reboot and I got the message "Scheduled system maintenance" - then "Navigation Loading" ON THE WAY BACK TO WORK THIS MORNING I did not set any destination. The map came up ok, but within a minute or so the display went back to the home screen and I got the message "Navigation Loading" This message remained on for 10-15 minutes UNTIL I CROSSED UNDER EXPRESSWAY, and then everything cleared up and behaved normally. THIS MAY BE AT THE SAME SPOT WHERE IT FAILED ON THE WAY OUT. Everything was fine all the way to work (the car's location was spot on!) ONE THEORY: The system is having a hard time loading and computing routes on map sections that are not loaded into memory. This could be either because the A3 map section/destination is corrupt or the SD chip slot is bad, or?? Note: I have removed and re-inserted the SD chip a few times in the past. This did not help. By the way, the destination to home and other areas seem to work. I'm going to ---- this weekend, about 100 miles away. I'll let you know what happens. I do know that the Route does successfully calculate to that address.
  19. Joe, the dealer just dropped my car off after installing a new 'GPMS' module. I won't know until I drive home from work if everything is ok, because the thing usually starts of 'ok' but gets farther off as I drive. I did see in the service ticket that if the problem continues to move the GPMS to another area, as it could be RFI (Radio Frequncy Interference). I don't know where the GPMS is located.
