  1. scottwood2, I'm fully aware of how cold it can get in the U.P.  My Mom is from a tiny village called Lake Linden.  Although these days it isn't as small as it used to be.  Beautiful country, haven't been up there for quite a few years.  Was hoping we would have the gathering in Detriot so I could scoot up there for a visit before heading back to the west coast.  Doesn't look like there will ever be a get together now.  Seems to be a dead issue.?  Too bad.

  2. the most anyone has on the lot is two, usually one Energi and the other an SE or SEL, but not both.

Pretty tough to build a following for a car when the company doesn't advertise them and the dealers don't stock them.

Not in Northern California, the dealership I bought Maxus from has over a dozen CMax in stock right now.  Plus many Energi's

  3. I have the same set of Husky's. I like them a lot.  Water puddles in the mat (mostly because of snow) and keeps it off of the carpet.  I keep an old towel in the garage and just mop it up from time to time.  This cleans up the mats pretty good too.

Glad to hear it scottwood2.  I've been living with factory mats I bought when I took Maxus home the first night.  They never fit very well and looked cheap and they weren't even with my Ford customer discount Frontier Ford extends to me.  These Husky looked on line as if they fit higher on the side where you left foot sits while driving and that is something I had to have with whatever I bought.

drdiesel1 I wanted the weather tech mats but they just didn't seem to have one that went high enough under the left foot.

  4. Has everyone seen the unveiling of the new Ford GT at the recent Detroit Auto Show?  For those that have...is that a designers piece of art?  I think Ford out did themselves with this new car.  Far exceeds the 2003 Ford GT which was a great looking car as well.  I'd be one of the first to order one if I only could afford it.  All carbon fiber body, has to be BIG bucks!!  Eco Boost V6 with Twin Turbo's and 600+ HP.   :drop:  :clapping:

  5. Turn the AC off and keep the blower on, but use the fresh air mode. You'll need to clean and treat the evap core to

correct the problem first. Then you'll need to keep shutting off the AC and run the fan for 5 min. in the fresh air mode

to keep the mold growth down. You should also replace the cabin air filter.

I asked the dealer to replace the cabin filter but don't think they did it.  This mold problem is ridiculous Ford needs to step up to the problem.  I've never had to deal with this before.

  6. Thanks drdiesel1 for your comments.  Your right I never do what you explained.  Never knew this to be an issue.  Maxus is the first car I've owned which has this problem.  I've owned previously 6 GM products, but none had this smell problem.  When I picked Maxus up I first noticed the fragrant smell in the car.  Turned on the A/C drove a few miles and seemed much better. Then I turned the A/C off and kept the blower running on recirculate and I did notice the smell was still there but not quite as bad.  Pretty dumb design if you ask me, why doesn't Ford do something about it if exists?  And it obviously does.

  7. Took her in for her 35k maintenance and check-up along with the two recalls currently on record.  Plus I wanted them to look into Sync issues with my iPhone 6.  Sync has been doing random system updates every so often screen goes blank and runs checks over and over.  Plus the screen shows me driving no where while completely "locked up".  Once starts moving I'm driving off road through houses and buildings.

For sometime I have only been able to place a call by asking Siri to place the call based on one of my contacts on record.  Then the call connects through Maxus speakers.  If I try to connect using the right paddle, the system is so messed up it can't understand what I'm requesting even if I clearly pronounce every syllable.

Checked with Frontier Ford around 4pm Thursday and they were having repeated failures with the recalibration of the restraints system for recall 14S04.  Were going to contact Ford today to get them in the loop.  I also asked them to do something about the stinky musty smell coming through the vents when the A/C is on or the defrosters are on while in recirculate.

Meanwhile I'm driving a Ferrari Red 2014 Mini Cooper Club Wagon.  Not a bad ride.  Funny thing is I've always wanted to drive one.  I may be doing just that since I'm thinking Maxus will be away from home for over the weekend and into next week trying to sort this mess out.  Time will tell, I'm just hoping I'm not going to be even worse off than before.  I just wanted to report in to the forum.  Prayers for Maxus are welcome

  8. I won't be gracing this club with my name.  Since September of 2012 I have purchased 69 tanks of gas.  600+ mpg twice, I racked up over 19,000 miles in the first year alone.  That represents just daily commute mileage plus one out of town drive to Sacramento, Ca.  Frankly I find it impossible to drive 600 to 800 miles a year unless I were to tow Maxus behind another vehicle and why would I want to do that?

I presume this club will be more suited to owners who pull their CMax from behind an RV or Bus?  Or rarely drive very far from home on a daily basis?

I'd be interested to know what your driving conditions are to put less than 600 miles a year on your CMax.

Will be watching this with interest.

  9. Mike, I think what you may have done is covered the proximity switch for the rear lift gate with the extension cord. The switch cant sense when your foot passes underneath it to trigger the latch with the cord "blocking its view".

Wnuk, interesting thought.  As I said I just ran the extension cord in one of the horizontal recesses molded into the black plastic panel underneath the rear bumper.  I didn't see any sensor being covered, unless it is behind the panel and senses foot movement through the plastic panel?  Strange function at any rate.

  10. I made an interesting discovery while stringing Christmas Lights on Maxus.  I needed to get power from the drivers side left rear corner over to the opposite side on the passenger side to string lights around the rear wheel well and down the rocker panel like I did on the drivers side.  Using a generic household extension cord which was plugged into the female connector at the end of the string of lights, I stretched the extension cord across the rear bumper laying it in one the horizontal recesses of the black kick panel under the bumper secured with duct tape.  I found that once doing this the tailgate kick function no longer worked.  I removed the extension cord to see if the kick function came back and it did.  Not sure why the extension cord would do this?  Maybe the voltage passing through the cord somehow blocked the motion sensors electronics.

  11. Well like the subject says something new happened for Maxus today.  Fortunately I wasn't going very fast so didn't have any cargo fall out.  But I didn't even notice it was open since there isn't any exhaust fumes until I noticed it getting cooler inside since we had a brisk morning this morning with the rain we were getting.

Funny thing was when I first noticed it was open was while backing up in a cul-de-sac and I noticed the image on the MFT appeared to be looking up at the sky.  I thought what the heck?  This was just before I noticed it was open.  Maybe this has something to do with the fact that it appears the automatic door opening feature is not working.  Had my hands loaded the other day and was kicking and sweeping away under the rear bumper and no opening hatch.  Really need to take her in to the dealer since my list is getting long with things needing attention.  Was hoping to wait until after the new year since I don't want to have it get stuck there over the last two weeks of the year.
