  1. Just a note here. I just put in for my 1K (two 500 gift cards) that VW is giving out as a "goodwill" gesture.
  2. Just a note for the newbees, there is no water temperature sensor. That is an estimated temp from the cylinder head temp guage. Ford did this on the Escape hybrid as well. I have no idea why they didn't just put in a sensor for water temp. The SG II and the engineering test mode displays report the inferred temperature.
  3. Rather strange, since under the Sync 2 I can connect via Aux and hear the voice Google Navigation.
  4. Paul, It is not for lack of knowledge, I just don't feel the need with the C-Max Energi like I did with my Escape Hybrid. I get sufficient information from the existing displays. Also, for the Energi at least, using the OBD port interferes with the health functionality.
  5. Well, report back for sure! But my FEH certainly did this, and there is no reason to burn gas when going downhill, assuming the downhill is steep enough to require engine breaking. I have a SGII, but have not plugged it into my Energi yet.
  6. The ICE doesn't stop; it continues to run. It just doesn't burn any fuel.
  7. I'm not sure I see the point. Of course, the C-Max has two modes, hill mode and "L". I don't think having three is that useful in general.
  8. Oh, from what I have read, if you are willing to do it, P&G will net exceptionally good MPG.
  9. The hybrid uses engine heat. Only the Energi has dual systems, one electric for EV mode and one ICE based for hybrid mode. FWIW, the A/C is all electric. BTW, I'm not sure setting the temp to 60 is ambient. Doesn't the hybrid have a "LO" setting for the HVAC? I have an Energi, so I'm not sure if the programming is the same.
  10. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen my GPS drifting since the latest update either.
  11. The folks who really hypermile will shift into neutral while gliding - it provides the longest glide distance. I never saw the point myself.
  12. I'm not OK with that unless it is a bacon cheeseburger...
  13. Is it the car or coming from the vents?
  14. My preferred technique is to engage Auto mode on steeper uphills, causing the engine and HVB to work together. If you go uphill on ICE, the MPG will drop to 20 or below. With the HVB assisting, the mileage is 60 or more. But I note that the guage also stops at 60 in Auto mode, so maybe the MPG is less than shown. But it often is above 60 as well. If I see the ICE drop out while doing this, I'll go back to EV Later to cause it to fire up, then switch to Auto.
  15. FWIW, when using the cruise control to accelerate (in EV or hybrid mode with ICE), the car sets the acceleration to about 1.75 on the Empower guage. You can use the CC to accelerate after you get going from a stop, once you get up to a certain speed (15 or 20 MPH comes to mind). I mention this number because Ford presumably programmed it for a reason.
  16. Some folks like to follow the laws regardless of if they are caught or not. One might as well ask if we should go ahead and commit any crime if the probability of being cited is low. But in fact, I suspect insurance would not pay off (for example), if it were determined you were in an illegal mode when an accident happened. Likely? No, but there you are. For me, FE is not as important as other things.
  17. The usual note applies for CA residents. It is illegal to coast in "N" here in CA.
  18. Do you have a setting for turning on the lights when the wipers run? I'm not sure about the 2013 menus.
  19. Tom, What are you quoting? I had to refresh my memory by checking the OM - the blue thermometer is for the Water Temperature disply on MyView, correct?
  20. I think that 800 number is services. My phone dials a toll free number when I connect to services. Most of the C-Max came with 3 years services.
  21. I found the same thing on my Escape Hybrid. A gentler accelleration resulted in better MPG. That is different from some of my ICE vehicles, which worked better by getting up to speed quickly.
  22. He bought new. That is what is so frustrating.
  23. I suppose one could ask that question, but I don't think I checked all four doors of my car when I received it either. The salesman demonstrated the power hatch, so I did see that open and close, and of course the two front doors. But I don't think I checked the rear doors.
  24. No, I don't notice generator whine when driving in hybrid mode. There is some on most hybrids, but I've not noticed it on my Energi. But I seldom drive on the streets in hybrid mode - my hybrid driving is almost all highway and the wind noise would predominate. I drive a couple miles of hybrid on the streets every week, proably no more. Perhaps a C-Max non Energi owner could chime in here...
  25. You did post them before, but not this large. Man, that is a poor manufacturing job. If I were Ford, I'd exchange it for a new one and send this back to the factory for them to ask how this could happen.
