  1. I seem to recall that the plant is closing in 2018. So there will be a gap before the Model E comes in. They can't produce the car when the plant in Michigan is being converted. But that means there should be a 2017 C-Max. I still haven't heard of one coming out.
  2. All fleet sales have had DRL for every model year. The 2013 had DRL that could be enabled by the dealer. The 2014 cannot have DRL unless it was factory. The 2015 and later have an operator selection for DRL. The 2013 should not have the headlights coming on during daytime. I'd say the sensor is going bad. It is in the middle of the dash near the windshield.
  3. I'm a native Texan and would love to move there, and they have lots of high tech around Austin. But my family is pure California, and no one else wants to move...
  4. So, as expected, the 2016 is the final C-Max. The new one is a sedan, and not as tall from what I've read.
  5. Oh, I didn't mean to imply criticism. I think the NAFTA thing was a really stupid idea. My own job is ending soon, I'm searching now. I only meant to indicate that they may not know or care if the C-Max is going to be built in Mexico; it doesn't concern them.
  6. I saw a report that C-max production will move there as well, but that was a union source, and they may be assuming this to be true. All they care about are the lost jobs. I will believe in the C-Max continuing when I see the 2017 model for sale.
  7. Yes, I had the blend door problem as well.
  8. I would bet that it is similar weight to the Prius, that is about 600 lbs lighter than the C-Max. That alone makes for a lot of MPG.
  9. Yep, the good old MCES. I had one replaced on my Escape hybrid. I also had the extended warranty. Later on I believe they recalled the design, but I may be thinking of the electric steering problem with the FEH. Both were scary, causing the vehicle to either just stop dead on the highway (MCES), or just top steering in the middle of a turn (electric steering). And both happened to me! The other thing the FEH had was some kind of special pump on the brakes. That was a 4K repair for a part that was only on the hybrid, yet it was not under the Fed warranty.
  10. Tire rotation should be part of that package.
  11. Similar to issues we had with the old Escape hybrid. There are parts that are not on any other non-hybrid, but they don't fall under the Fed hybrid warranty.
  12. I see you are in western NY. Quite a bit different than here in LA. We have lots of hybrids, and every Ford dealer sells them. My particular dealer is the number one volume Ford seller. Anyway, we have a lot of experienced dealers here.
  13. Doesn't violate the warranty to have it done elsewhere, but if the service is done at the Ford dealer everything is already documented in their computer, simplifying the claims. Plus, I know it is done right.
  14. Depends on the dealer. I've had nothing but great service from Galpin Ford here in the LA area. When under warranty, I always use the dealer for service. It simplifies things if any warranty repairs come up. But also, I prefer taking my hybrid to a dealer who knows the technology. I had an Escape Hybrid before the C-Max Energi, and my dealer has been servicing hybrids for 11 years. YMMV, I know, but it just depends on the dealer.
  15. You know this is a C-Max Hybrid forum? You might get better results on the Energi forum. http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/ I strongly recommend that you purchase a tire repair kit rather than using the can. That spray stuff WILL kill your TPMS sensors if you use it. Buy a small set of pliers at the same time to remove any nails. With less than 20 bucks or so, you can repair any normal tire problems.
  16. Been meaning to post this, I got this one from Amazon, it is nice. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B15R6FO

    My first Ford

Interesting, I wonder if you get different tires up there. I don't notice the road noise that much. About what I used to get. The C-Max is quiet enough that I can speak to the passenger without raising my voice, at any speed I've tried up to 80MPH.
  18. I gotta say, every time I see this thread title, I keep wondering how much Canada costs! And it gets a laugh each time.
  19. Except on long highway trips I don't have the RPM gauge up, so I don't know where it shows up.
  20. I've noticed a few times that the engine puts out a "wooo" sound on. Each time I've let off the gas and the sound goes away. I don't know if it is the ANC adjusting or what. It wasn't that loud, but definitely present. Just adding a data point here. It isn't worth mentioning to the dealer. I think what folks are hearing on this thread is a lot louder.
  21. That electric heater drains a lot of energy. I know a lot of folks who forgo heat and just use an extra coat and the seat heaters. Me, I use it when I need to.
  22. Just for information, another Energi owner here. The hybrid runs like the Energi in EV Later mode. Or if you run out of EV Only battery, it will then be exactly like the Hybrid. If you want to try it, just don't charge the car for a couple of days. However, there is one important difference. When the hybrid HVB gets full, it will run the engine without gas going downhill. The Energi will do this also, but first it will just put the energy back into the HVB. It will eventually get to the "full HVB", but it takes a lot longer. The only other major differences are that the Energi has a dual heater system, where it provides electric heat when the ICE is not warmed up, and the Energi has a different final gear ratio for the transmission - a little higher geared than the hybrid C-Max. Sorry it intrude into the hybrid discussion, but maybe folks over here will like the information as well.
  23. It won't stay in EV Later when you power off. It will stay in EV Only or EV Auto.
  24. Paul, Lets see. Heat was over a 100 in the desert. EPA says that for every 100 lbs extra, it causes 1-2% decrease in MPG. I don't draft semi trailers. I consider it unsafe. We have been over this a lot on these forums, but it is illegal to coast in neutral, so I don't do it (but wouldn't at highway speeds anyway). It is 804 miles to Albuquerque. At 75 vs 65 MPH, it takes 1 hour and 35 minutes less time to drive. I always choose the time over MPG. I find that length of the trip is far more tiring than speed.
