I would think it better to simply buy a spare rim from the dealer, then get a tire, if it is that important to you. Expensive, I know, but the best solution.

I noticed that sort of headliner on my Ford Escape Hybrid. After 6 years, the material started separating. Turns out there was no extra material to glue back - it went exactly to the edge of the headliner and no further. The upholster place I spoke with said the glue just goes bad, and the material rots, so it can't be repaired, only replaced. Of course, that would have been business for him, so who knows. As it happens I traded the FEH in for my C-Max...

The Energi version has a separate heating system that runs off the electric (as well as the one connected to the ICE), but that doesn't help us either - it ends up using a huge amount of energy, sometimes maxing out the energy use meter. Those seat heaters are definitely the way to go.

Why is this under 2014?
-
Yikes! Check your displays and see if they removed MPGe. Some of the flashes will do that.
-
My wife has a 2014 Passat TDI. We get around 43 MPG at 78 MPH. You are not going to get that in a C-Max. Like most hybrids, it is designed to maximize in town driving. I suspect one would get better MPG with the Jetta, which is smaller and lighter. The C-Max also doesn't have anywhere near the pure power of a diesel. That is not a drag on the C-Max, it just isn't designed for the same thing. I love my C-Max Energi, but I recognize where it shines, and where it is less than optimum.

I don't see it in the documentation, so you may be right. I'd have to check with the dealer. Edit: looking it up on the web, I think you are correct, and the battery is under the 3/36.

Not fully clear. The selling price was before the Ford rebate? That is the exact amount of the MSRP minus "sell price". I'd have to see the contract, but it looks like a great price!

I noticed the first couple of times I tried it that if I accidentally hit the OK button again, it dropped out of ETM. But that may only work when the initial start screen on the left side is active.
-
This brings up an interesting question. Some models of the conventional C-Max hybrid do not have the push button start. Does the ETM work on those models? It is not a factor for the Energi, which I believe always comes with the push button starting.
-
The GM ignition switch deaths were because it also disabled the air bags. I don't know if the reported errors would also cause that. Possibly.
-
Just a small note - you do realize that you are on the "normal" C-Max forum? There is a separate forum for the Energi. Look up at the top of the page, left side, and click on the Energi forum. I find lots of interesting stuff over here on the C-Max forum (much of the car is identical to the conventional hybrid), but you may encounter things that only affect the Energi, and you will get more response over there.

That is above KBB private party sale value. What was the out the door price on the Energi? Texas has a large rebate on purchase, as well as the federal rebate, which would equate to somewhare around 6K off the MSRP, I think (although I'm not sure of the state amount). So an absolutely maxed out 303A package with sunroof would come in at 30.5 K or so.
-
Just remember it draws 2 mA whenever it is plugged in! Not a lot, but I would remove it when not in use.

The battery itself is prorated. If battery failure is caused by some other part, Ford should replace the battery for you. However that may vary by dealer - after all, you did get the use from the battery until it failed. The hybrid components are fully covered (not prorated) for a much longer period, depending upon the state where the hybrid was first sold. It is 10 years / 150K for a CARB state, and 8 years/100k for other states.

I have to agree with other folks who have posted this. The people with battery problems are the ones who are more likely to vote in this poll. Others are less likely. It is the same with most car forums; folks check in to report problems (or research problems they are having), but seldom to say their vehicle is working well. These forums are not a good place to judge the overall quality of the vehicle.

Huh, I could have sworn I posted that information, but I don't see it here. I recently changed MyView to have that display. Everything else there is duplicated somewhere else, so I thought I might as well have it. Mine has RPM on the left and Temp on the right.

The bright blue one looks great in the sunlight, not so great at other times. I suppose that would have been my second choice.

I had an intermittent problem with the electrical steering on my Escape Hybrid (there was a later recall). It caused the electric systems to go out, especiall the steering, and I can tell you that I was unable to effectively turn the car without the electric assist. I'd hate to have the electric steering go out on my C-Max Energi! Brakes, yes, the emergency brake will work.

I own the Energi, but I think most of the screens are similar. Does the left side display have a "MyView"? If so, the temperature guage can be configured as one of the two displays in MyView. Concur on the need for a voltage guage, maybe in the same MyView location.

For 2015 they dropped the Ice Storm color, and one of the gray shades. They replaced it with "Magnetic" and "Tectonic", both gray shades. I'm glad I got mine while I could! I love this color.

MFM Android App not working correctly
stevedebi replied to Tony Ingram's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
On my 2014, I had to confirm MFM in the car twice before the app started working. It was 24 hours apart. -

I have the Energi, and I don't know if your displays are quite the same, but the heater runs by heating a liquid, and I can see the huge draw it uses. If the ICE is not running, the vehicle uses electricity to heat the fluid. It makes more sense in the conventional hybrid, because it will run the ICE more than then Energi; the engine heat will cause the fluid to get warm. But at a stop, the conventional hybrid becomes like my Energi, but with only the smaller battery, the engine would logically come on to provide heat (because the battery will deplete faster). I keep my vehicle on LO unless someone really needs the heat. I've found that the heater draws the most current of all the HVAC, except perhaps setting MAX A/C (but that is only temporary).

I knew you meant that. But I recall being able to refill the cells with fluid that revitalized the batteries. Back in the day, of course..
