  1. Steve yes so far using the stock tires that came with the vehicle. When I used to live in South Lake Tahoe I kept a separate set of Snow tires and rims, but that seems like overkill here!Maybe I'll revisit that decision next winter. Right now I am beginning to see twinges of "Spring" so I am dreaming of warmer temps and greenery! :bliss: ......and higher battery charges and longer EV range!
  2. How do I get the display screen that shows the total miles driven broken down between EV miles and ICE miles driven????? I can't seem to locate how to make this display info to come up! Thanks in advance for any help with this! Tim
  3. So I own a dog walking and PetCare business here in Bucks County, PA just north of Philly! Basically I have to drive everyday regardless of the weather and driving conditions. (Comes with the territory of being the Dog Walker!) I don't get to take "Snow Days" off! I purchased my 2014 Ruby Red SEL -NRG in late January and have been driving it so far almost exclusively in extremely cold, and frigid temps, and plenty of snow and Ice - this winter has been brutal. To say that Sparky has been a good car in these conditions is an extreme "understatement"! This little car has handled every bit of nasty driving conditions swimmingly! Not to mention the added convenience being able to set "Go Times" and have the car precondition itself while still plugged in, so that when I enter the car for my first trip of the day - it is always warm and toasty, and more importantly - fully charged and I don't have to kill my EV range trying to warm the vehicle early in my driving day! This car handles so much better than my 2009 Chevy HHR in the same conditions - and don't get me wrong I thought the HHR did pretty well! (except for fuel economy) So basically - my point being - With the added weight of the larger lithium Ion battery - this car really does plow through tough, winter driving extremes very well. My friend who has a F150 4X4 rode with me the other day on a 8-10"snow day and was thoroughly impressed with how my little car just plugged along oblivious to the nasty conditions!
  4. I Ordered the WeatherTech for Sparky and they fit great (sans left foot rest) I am thinking of getting some dark grey indoor/outdoor carpeting from Home Depot/Lowes and engineering a small supplement to cover the uncovered section of my foot rest that the Weathertechs don't!
  5. Okay as it was late out and cold, I didn't really look into it until this AM, seems the rear parking sensors were covered in road salt and dirt! ( :rant2: Ugh I really am starting to hate winter in the Northeast ) Used to live in Tahoe and they don't use salt out West! Cleaned them off = Problem solved and annoying tone gone! :clapping: Thanks and Cheers, Tim
  6. Today after taking "Sparky" out for a 56 mile road trip to Jersey ( well actually halfway through my road trip ) the car started to make a loud constant, sustained tone (like a warning tone) when I put the car in reverse. It still backed up and seemed to function normally. But this is the first time I have heard this sound since taking delivery on 2/4/2015. I know I should probably go out to the car and get the Owner's Manual out the glovebox, but it's 8º outside and I'm being lazy :) Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help! Tim I have put 843 miles on the car, using a little more than 11.75 gal of fuel. (the first tank was on the dealer) :yahoo:
  7. Hey Gerry that's what I named mine! Too funny. Great minds........... :) :clapping:
  8. Just got my 2014 Energi, so I have nothing but cold weather driving experience with the vehicle, still extremely happy with my mileage Have close to 700 miles (678) on my first 3/4 of tank! Haven't had to hit a gas station yet! but I have using EV only mode for most of the driving. Really looking forward to some warmer weather so I can see how this car will really excel!
  9. 2014 C-Max Energi in Ruby Red here! - I just love the color! Plus "Sparky" (my cars name :-) ) coordinates with my Florida State License plate on the front.
  10. Took delivery of my 2014 C-Max Energi SEL on 1/30/2015 - Bought it used from CarMax (Yes I know everyone says you can't get a good deal through them!) But I Paid $20,550.00 out the door for a car with 1371 miles on it. I have gone a little over 750 miles and still have 1/4 of the tank full that the dealership gave me. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. Had done extensive reviews, and test drove the Hybrid and the Energi. I went into this purchase very aware of all of the pros and cons of the vehicle, it just made sense to me for my situation! To be perfectly honest, I absolutely love, love, love this car! The ride and comfort are so superior to the Prius' that I test drove. Can't wait until my electrician does the install of my 240V charging outlet next Wednesday, then I will be able to get a complete battery recharge in 2.5 hours and I can get my daily driving routine to be all EV (WooHoo!)
