Sorry. I misread the post. I was talking about the hatch, not the back doors. There are no sensors on the back doors so to unlock them you have to use the key fob or unlock a front door.

Glad no one was badly hurt. Good lesson that tailgating is bad. Use the 2 second rule for following.

A regular fuel injected car (not one with start-stop) turns off the injectors when coasting in drive. By putting your car in neutral, gas is being used to keep the engine spinning instead of using the inertia built up but traveling forward so by shifting into neutral you are using MORE gas, not less. Plus it's a dangerous thing to do. Ever need to accelerate in a hurry to avoid an accident? Hard to do when you're in neutral. So there is actually no reason to do this. it wastes fuel and is dangerous.

Sorry, that's a silly statement. I took a 5000+ trip this summer. The speed limits in Wyoming and South Dakota were just raised to 80mph. I drove my C-Max at 85 mph. It was raining (torrential) and I never had any kind of a traction problem. My tires are at 40lbs, factory setting.

Unless your engine is programmed to use premium, it does nothing for you except cost more. It will not keep advancing the timing until it senses a knock. It only advances enough to take advantage of regular gas. Some car's timing will advance to take advantage of premium (like my 2007 Toyota FJ cruiser which had 2 hp and torque ratings for different octane ratings) but not a C-Max.

2015 C-Max SEL. I can unlock the back hatch just by having the key fob in my pocket and grabbing the lock on the back door.

Every car I have ever owned turns on the a/c when you select defrost. Since it is so much faster doing it that way, my guess is that it's a safety requirement.

You guys need to quit living in the '60s. Modern engines do NOT need to be broken it. They are manufactured with better materials and oil is much better than it used to be. If the manual says change at 10k, you are totally safe in doing so. If you drive a hybrid, generally you are interested in the environment. Changing your oil more often than required just puts more oil out there that needs to be disposed of. Fact, the car that has been driven the longest on the original motor/transmission is a Volvo with 1.4 million miles on it. What does he do special to maintain it? Nothing. He follows the factory recommendations (as you all should). Quit wasting resources. You bought a hybrid. That's a good start. Now start saving the planet in other ways. Like not changing your oil before it's called for. You aren't making your vehicle last any longer and you are wasting resources.

Tranny fluid change on a C-Max isn't dues until 150k miles.

It's just the sound of the generators doing their thing. No worries.

You do know your C-Max engine is made in Mexico, right? -
My 2015 C-Max Hybrid did the same thing. Thanks for posting the fix.

Just get a Costco card and use their pricing plan. Mine ended up being $400 under invoice, $500 back and 0% financing. Well worth getting a Costco card for it.

That's not true. Many, many cars come straight from the factory filled with synthetic oil. My 2003 BMW 330 Ci came filled with BMW synthetic and never used a drop of oil in 75,000+ miles.
