Did fordcmaxenergiforum.com die?
tr7driver replied to Nervous but Excited's topic in Lounge: C-MAX Hybrid
Hi jzchen, I remember you from there. Thanks for your efforts. I was trying to find data on resetting the head unit and discovered it gone. Man there was a lot of good info that went down with that site. -
This site is slower than a Prius!

Ford to end C-max production at Michigan plant
tr7driver replied to djc's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
The last time my car was in they gave me a loaner Focus with the duel clutch transmission. It shifted fast, but I didn't like the feel of it. Maybe the smooth CVT has me spoiled. -
AAA: Not All Gasoline Created Equal

So, is the efficiency differences between gasoline types measured by the AAA test in conventional ICE engines the same in our Atkinson cycle engines? -
Replacing Headlight Bulbs
tr7driver replied to MikeB's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
One of the options for the Ford Extended Warranty is $50 for light replacement. I had a LED tail light go out on my Mercury Milan Hybrid and it was a $500 part, you had to replace the entire assembly, not just a bulb. I figured that might make the coverage worthwhile. It never occurred to me that changing a headlight bulb would be such a difficult issue. Maybe the extra $50 is a good investment. -
I have EV+ on my Fusion Hybrid as well.

Access to GPS data in non-nav 2013 C-Max SEL?
tr7driver replied to ion's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
You can download several free apps to your smart phone that will give you altitude. -
The Cmax seems roomier, and the higher seating makes the view out better. Probably better use of space in the Cmax. The trunk on the fusion hybrid is not too bad. The trunk in the fusion energi is tiny. We do a lot of cross country trips and we like the fusion for that. Plus i have a spare tire in the trunk of the fusion.
-
Yes, you can get all that on a Fusion. We have it all in our 2014 Fusion Titanium Hybrid.

Spotted this at a stop light Friday. US Gov fleet tag.

How much does gas need to cost for hybrids to pay off?
tr7driver replied to Louder North's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I have the same issue, except I commute on an beltway that goes around the town with a 45 mph speed limit. In the past 20 years there has been so much development that it is now 3 lanes each direction with duel turning lanes at lights spaced about every 1/3 mile to accommodate all the new big box stores, corporate campuses and subdivisions. It seems the common and accepted way to drive this is to race from one stop light to the next then sit for five minutes at a red until the next heat. Putting along at about 30 mph gets you close to synced with the lights (and about 4 fingers per segment) but is an invitation for fender benders. I finally figured a route through town at 30 mph. Ironically, it takes the same amount of time to drive even though the trip is two miles longer. Since the beltway goes around the city, there are several alternate options available to me, some good, other not so much. When I used to drive to work at 4:30 am I could time them and cruise along with only one stop, Now I start at 7:15 and get caught among all the "good neighbors" late for work heading to the insurance companies HQ and State Office in their BMW's. -

Installing The Torklift Central Hitch
tr7driver replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Thanks for the info. I just bought a Curt hitch from one of the forum members that turned his lease car in, and I'm worried the hitch will prevent the auto open. Anyone here install the Curt hitch? -

I made a 1,000 deposit on a Mitsubishi iMev site unseen about a year before it was shipped for sale. Good thing the deposit was refundable. When we finally took one for a test drive we couldn't wait to return it and apply for a refund. -
