Turns out it is a dual filament bulb, so the same bulb would light up when the door was open but wouldn't light up when the turn signal was on. Considering that there's something like 4 bulbs there, amazes me that they need something so complicated. In the end, changing the bulb worked. Thanks for the help.

thanks wab, but again, the bulb will turn on if the door is open, it just won't blink, so I want to make sure it's actually the bulb and not something else? I guess I can replace the bulb just to check. . .

The bulb does not blink at all when the turn signal is on (inside it makes the faster click, but the bulb does not turn on). The rear blinker still works. The bulb turns on when the door is open (running lights). If it's the circuit, is this something I could fix, or would I need to bring it in to the shop? can anyone confirm if it is a dual filament bulb or not?

The bulb turns on when the door is open, but turn signal (front driver's side) clicks fast when engaged and does not turn on. Is this a switch or fuse problem? No other issues with lights. I'd prefer to fix myself rather than take it to the dealer, I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks!
