Yesterday I had a troubling sequence of events. I got back to my car after a quick errand, and the screen just stayed black. No controls did anything. The car was fine otherwise. I poked the power button at random intervals while driving.
Eventually it lit up with the big SYNC lettering and a note about updating or some such, and in a couple of seconds, my bluetooth audio started playing. The screen displayed SYNC for what seemed like several minutes, then displayed the "normal" screen. The Audio never updated the track information; it displayed Unknown until the next podcast started playing.
Disconcerting, but ultimately no trouble.

We had a similar problem with my wife's FEH; the dealer recommended a scent-based repellent. https://www.google.com/search?q=rodent+repellent+scent&oq=rodent+repellent+scent is a good start.

My 2013 is the same way; I used it at 2 for the first time in this recent cold spell (-10F).

Only two digits on the speedo is really odd, that would max out at 100km/hr (only 62mph).

At least, in mine, fuse 79 is a different color than those around it!

There's only one gear, so there's no extra strain. What the Cmax does in L is to turn up the regen when you lift off the accelerator pedal, a purely electronic action. I drive this way pretty much all the time; I only apply the brake pedal when I want to actually stop. If I have to use it to stop sooner, I have planned badly.
This way, you're certain to not use the physical brakes inadvertently, which wastes juice.
It's really gratifying to do this decelerating off the highway and watch the "brakes" shove a couple percent charge into the battery!

You have to lock the doors first, perhaps with the fob; I've never tried it without doing that.

Right; I get 4+mi/kWh in my Energi, my household electricity is about $.12/kWh, so that math certainly works for me. Even the pricey charger near work charges $.20/kWh, raising it to $.05/mi. Thankfully, there's a free charger (thanks, National Grid!) only slightly farther away, which drops my cost about in half.

+3, cut him some slack. I have good mechanical intuition and it took me a long time to internalize how the planetary gearset works.
I've also seen different sources saying that the ICE is connected variously to the Sun gear and the Planetary gears. I would think that connecting to the Sun gear would make the most sense, but I don't *know*.

The size comparison implies that there's less space between the cells than around them.

I have EV+ on my 2013 Energi, but I don't know if the Hybrids are different. The nice thing about EV+ is that it raises the ICE turn-on threshold, letting you drain the HVB more than it usually would, on the assumption that you're about to park it (and for Energi, plug it in). I have a weekly trip that is *just* at the edge of my EV range, and EV+ often lets me drain the last few electrons out of my HVB.
-
Jaws of life, eh? And here I've just been bumbling around with a pair of needle-nose pliers!
-
Not charging the 12v from the HVB when car is off seems to be a basic design decision. Yes, I'd think that the car should be willing to drain the hybrid battery because a dead 12v bricks the car, but I didn't design the thing.

I just had my front ?sway bar links? replaced (2013 Energi, 64Kmi). The symptom was a clunking noise when going over bumps at low speed.
The cost was just over $200.
The front end feels much more solid now!
I didn't get the chance to talk to the mechanic after the fix to clarify; the receipt says that he ordered "FRONT SAT LINKS" and "REPLACE FRI LINKS" for the labor.

I had a similar situation with my recent MA state inspection with my Energi. The mechanic eventually gave me the sticker, but he complained the whole way, saying that Teslas and Bolts don't look that bad...
-
You'll be doing this every six months or so...
-
Nope, no records. My daily driving is local roads, 45-50mph tops, with occasional highway trips at full highway speeds (don't tell anybody, but I routinely exceed legal limits). The noise was getting noticeable above about 30, enough to annoy my wife.
-
As a datapoint, the noise on my back tires got noticeable at about 60K. I failed the next state inspection because the belts were showing on the inside corners.

Can't fault you on that decision! We're on our second Forester. I'm really hoping that they come out with a BEV or PHEV Forester before my CMax dies!
-
For the washers, as Plus 3 Golfer says above, you can clean them with a straight pin. I haven't looked at the CMax's, but I've found that if the nozzles are little balls with holes, you can also *aim* them when you've inserted those pins into the holes.
That said, my washers only get weak when the tank is about empty.

It was avoiding a trip to the dealer, and it knew you were serious this time!
